Anyone in here into Watches?  I collect and trade Rolex | Tudor Mainly but always hunting for highend luxery watches to buy and sell or keep.

I go with fairy generic victorinox/Swiss army watches.

Good watches, but not a disaster if they get broke/lost/stolen.

nothing wrong with those!  as a nerd of horology, they all have a place.  Victorinox watches have there own LONG history in the space.   its worth researching and fascinating.  Some of the old ones can be worth some cash too.

I use the higher end stuff as part of my investment portfolio.  So far my ROlex has outperformed the stockmarket over the past decade.

example. the first Rolex SUbmariner I ever purchased, i bought for $8300 after tax, wore it for over a year and sold it for $11,500 to help fund the upgrade to a stainless steel, gold two tone submariner.  I got it for around $15k and its currenrlty trading for $20k ish..   I owne a few now and all of them are worth way more than my initial investment.

I've got a nice vintage Oyster Perpetual Datejust c.1973(?) that I paid $1K for in 1990. Not sure what it's worth but it's a cool little wrist piece.

I have a Timex Ironman. Bought 20 of them for $20 when the old Timex in NLR went out of business. It has paint on it. Not sure what it's worth now. I'm guessing maybe $2-3. So probably doubled my investment.   ;D
