Something we shouldn't overlook is the fact that they have a good QB who's played a ton of ball.

Slovis is 7th and 5th all time at USC in passing yards and TDs, respectively. He's got 39 starts over 5 years, so he's not some underclassman chucklehead who's going to get rattled easily by our crowd.

The breakdown that Power Hour did on our game showed that Kent State's QB made some terrible reads and decisions. It'll be interesting to see how our D matches up with him. 

At least they don't have #12 who obliterated us last season.

They're outside the top 50 for passing efficiency (guess who's in the top 10). They're passing defense is comparatively better (top 20). Their defensive numbers are actually eerily similar to ours. They have a tendency to bend but not break, as we're both giving up about 200 yds per game in the air, but holding strong in the red zone with only one rushing td and 0 passing (red zone defense percentages are actually the exact same). Both teams are top 10 in rushing defense, with both teams giving up less than 3 ypc (Hogs are a stellar 1.36 in that category currently) and only 1 td.

Hard to tell, as this will definitely be an upgrade in competition for both teams, but points could be at a premium for this game and a defensive score could be huge. Having said that, now watch KJ go off and throw for 350 and 5. I actually look for KJ's accuracy to be the difference in this one. If he's on, we pick them apart. If he has some of the issues he had last game with placement, this team could make him pay for it. Regardless, it will probably be another game we struggle to get the run game going.

They gained 46 yards rushing last week. It's unlikely that they beat us on the ground. I think our dline can get pressure to the qb if they opt for a drop back passing game. That means they are going to hit us with quick, short passes. Puts a lot of pressure on the secondary. Scary.
