Thin Red Swine

Clark is spewing oil all over the track.

He's headed into the wall.

That birdie pointed his car straight again and he's roaring down the backstretch.

I've never seen a professional golf course on tv that had bumpy greens. I guess that is part of the challenge at shinnecock.

Their greens are a blend of bent grass and poa annua which is a weed in southern yards. It shocked me that is used on the greens there on purpose.

And he just skidded again.

He's gonna double bogey 18.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Poa Anna is used extensively on greens in California.

Oh well. Good news for the Shinnecock locker room that won't get destroyed.

Spun out at the finish line and got the checkered flag going backwards.

It counts.

A big reason the crowds were down is due to the hassle of getting out there.

US Open in Pebble Beach next year-- I'm thinking about ordering tickets.

The thought crossed my mind as well.

We went to the US Open the year Rory won at Congressional.  Crowds were huge there.

Actually think if I decide to order tickets, it will just be for maybe Wednesday practice round, and then Thursday.  Get home on Friday and watch the weekend.
