First, DVH is going to win a championship at some point.  The odds are too great based on his recruiting, coaching staff, etc.

Are you including the Arkansas'd! factor in calculating those odds?

Y'all that are arguing about something that isn't going to happen this year are forgetting one variable - the record of whoever would be hiring the replacement, and that ain't pretty.

Any boosters willing to pony up enough money to take over hiring his replacement when the time does come?

You make a really great point though.  DVH has been so stellar that he for the most part has neutralized the Arkansas'd factor.  Unfortunatly by the time he gets to the Championship Series or a game from the Championship Series, he runs out of counteractive powers.

Finding a new coach that can bring the same magical ability but also has a big enough tank to extend that magic into the NC series is zero percent.

I don't know who can replace Horn. I am not that knowledgeable in baseball, but after 23 seasons, with no national title, something has to change. If not Horn, another batting coach change?

You have to do something, because if this keeps happening players will not want to come and fans will start to not care. Being content will lead to apathy to not having what other teams have accomplished.

Wah Fukn wah. We're one of the biggest shows in college baseball. We choked,again.  The Yankees and Dodgers spend more money than everyone else every year and have the best teams on paper, but the "choke" almost every year. But they eventually put one together here or there.

Chris Burke: Arkansas' Gage Wood's no-hitter was my favorite part of this year's MCWS. The dominance (19 Ks) and precision (no walks) were something that we might never see again. Also, his only postgame comment about his outing -- "I shouldn't have hit the guy" -- was legendary and something I won't forget.

David Dellucci: Gage Wood treated me and the 24,074 fans at Charles Schwab Field to something that hadn't been accomplished in 65 years, a no-hitter. Wood's first pitch of the game was a strike at 96 mph, and 82 strikes on 118 pitches later, he recorded his MCWS record-breaking 19th strikeout on a 97 mph fastball. The only thing that kept him from pitching a perfect game was a 2-2 curveball that hit Dom Decker on the tip of his cleat. It was 2 hours and 31 minutes of awesomeness from a player whose team was facing elimination and needed to conserve the bullpen arms. When asked what was so special about the outing, Wood replied, "I just didn't want to go home".
