fair enough.
shouldn't the $$$ becoming from the TV contracts and not the fanbase?

it's why college sports is in the pickle it's in, the athletic departments don't want to share their tv money and yet spend yours and mine - tickets, foundation and now the collective.

the conferences started all this when the got schools to give them their media rights, maybe the conferences should create the pay standard - SEC and Big 10 pay the most because they are the most valuable but there's got to be a cap right? or maybe not since aTm is gonna out spend everyone and still go 8-4.

Problem is, they will never get to the point where the only money is coming from the conferences.  They have been told they can get name, image, and likeness money and that will never change.  How do you put a limit on how much someone like Frank Fletcher might be willing to pay for a certain player?
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

Lurk

If our first real big money NIL money players are any indication, the dumb ones will take their money and quit.

KJ, Rocket and Brazile come on down.

The Twitters/X says everyone expected this:

I guess except me.  I didn't expect it.  I can't see Saban sitting out there and yucking it up with the boys every Saturday.

He is brave to go on there with noted college football mastermind Lee Corso.

He will talk so far over their heads, they will be speechless.

animal

Saban will take over wearing the mascot shit when Corso finally kicks the bucket. :))

Son of Spam

Saban always sounds boring as hell to me when he talks. They will have to expand the time for Gameday so he can finish talking, he is so slow.
Well, shit...

I was going to say the dame thing. I'm sure there aren't many that know more about the game, but he's less entertaining/interesting than watching paint drip into my eyes.

A coupla more hot dames on the show would probably be more entertaining.

How many people are they going to cram around that desk? That show is an abortion now, I can't imagine what it will be like next season.
I need help and I know it.

On the plus side, Nick might throat rip McAfee like Dalton in the real Road House and end that experiment for the good of society.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Nobody can top the CBS crew as far as being boring and unfunny.

Doc Hogaday

Quote from: Doc Hogaday on Jan 23, 2024, 09:53 PMI think there is a lot of truth to it. And it's not just NIL...it's the no sit-out transfer year that came with it. Who would want to deal w/ all that when you've had it *relatively* so easy for all these years.

And you can bet your ass Nick is going be sitting high in an ESPN chair at some desk for years to come acting all sanctimonious about it now. He's the best to ever do it...I'll give him that. But fuck that guy.

He is going to be insufferable.
Pants ironed and back for more
