This is precisely the type of game Pittman loses.

He has a penchant for completely overlooking opponents while they make it their Super Bowl, and suddenly we're down 14 in the second quarter. See Rice in 2021, Liberty in 2022, Missouri State in 2022, Kent State in 2023, UAB in 2024.

Quote from: DirkPiggler on Dec 03, 2024, 12:31 PMI wonder when the league is going to announce the actual schedule...when the SEC teams play each other.

The order we face the opponents could matter.  Start out hot with an unexpected win over Memphis State and a decent showing against ND and we might be motivated to play up in some of the conference games.  If we follow those with Texas-LSU-Tennessee Sam might not be the coach by November 1.

Schedule will be announced Dec 11 at 6pm on SECN.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

"Precisely the type of game he loses"? He won 4/5 of those.

"Precisely the type of game where we underperform," sure.

True. I should've worded it along the lines of "precisely the type of game Pittman can underperform and has lost before."

We are somewhere between a 5-7 and 7-5  team, depending on breaks and schedule. Safest bet is 6-6

Thin Red Swine

Quote from: BleedinRed on Dec 03, 2024, 11:26 AMI thought what I wrote was fairly clear.  Maybe not.  Not sure what the last 24 games have to do with next year's results.   Yes, I think we split between those two games.

You were clear.

If we were talking mathematical probability, the past doesn't matter.  This ain't math.

I hear you.  And you ain't wrong.  Of course the other side of the coin is that at some point a team is due for a win.  And that is where I get my split decision from.  Odds have to eventually swing in our favor that we at least trip into a win.

I do think there is a better chance since we get both at home.

Oh wait, maybe that makes it worse.
