Let's face it, Calipari was never that great at the actual coaching part of being a coach. He's completely washed now. He had an "offensive guru" on his staff at Kentucky last year who went to Fresno. He needs to get someone like that in the offseason or we're fucked no matter how much talent we have.

Nolan never put a team this bad together.  This team sucks at every facet of the game.  Most nights there isn't one single thing they do well.  

I went to get with 5 minutes left in the first half.  Johnell had 10 points.  I just checked the box score.  He finished the game with 10 points.  

Brazile has 6 points, Wagner had 10, and Thiero had 13.  We wno't win many games with that scoring production.  Fland should never be our leading scorer.

LSU dribbled around us and made layups all night. We dicked around doing our figure 8 outside the arc and would end up shooting some shit shot. We can't guard anyone off the dribble and no one helps underneath. I have never seen a team this bad. We really look like a team some company put together or maybe a team  in a church league. LSU had guys wide open under the basket all night. And they are a terrible team. So, what does that say about us?

Throw aside offense and defense, this team has no leadership. Just like last year. No one brings everyone together and says "we're not losing this game".

Even look at the bench. Keady once said "give me 9 really good players and 4 that cheer like hell". Our bench players look like they were forced to go to the game. If Cal wants to have a few kids there for practice, get kid's from Arkansas to hold those spots. They would actually care about the game.

He played only ten minutes, and without rewatching I'd guess at least half those were played at center (not his position) with Aidoo on the bench.  Think what you want of TB, but this year he's been the only one who has shown any interest in grabbing a rebound that didn't hit him squarely in his hands where he was standing.  And in his limited time last night he hit two three pointers.

The best five we can put on the floor right now is as follows:

Brazile
Aidoo

Guys like Richmond, Knox, and Z need to play around 5 minutes each per game at most to spell the other guys.  And Davis...WTF?  He looks like the epitome of what happens when you give a guy a large salary and no other incentives to perform or even remotely give a damn.  Play him when he's on a heater, and sit his ass as soon as it's obvious that he's not.

I mean, is it fucking us?  You could say Calipari was past his prime, but he has never been this bad.  So what's the fucking deal? 

Two years in a row with two different coaches where we entered the season thinking about Final Fours and we suck to Stan Heath levels.

Great minds and all. This is exactly the rotation I came up with in the shower this morning. Z, Richmond, and Knox are bit players at best.

Richmond is the kind of player that everybody wants to like, but he doesn't have SEC talent. He's like a D-league Lenzie Howell or Darrell Hawkins.

Box scores don't always tell the story but we had Brazile and Davis making 3s but proceed to not get them more shot opportunities. Wagner with 0 assists, doesn't shoot it enough usually gets to the rack and scores but that's mostly what he's been doing. We're not getting him "catch and shoot" in this offense. Everything seems to go thru Fland and his stat line looks ok but he's p laying 38 minutes and is ball dominant. Theiro gets his touches and Aidoo too decent stat lines.

All in all this team makes way too many mental gaffes and just isn't very good defensively.

Big Zilch came in and got tossed to the floor by a 170lb guard there in the 2nd half. Holy shit just go back to the bench.

Big turning point was the F1 on Brazile for a set screen. They make both free throws, then get the ball back and hit a 3. Killer. He leaned into the guy and gave a bit of chicken wing but damn. Then not long after I saw about mid-court an LSU guy set up a wedge block and Fland or one of the other guards ran right into that motherfucker. It was probably legal but still pretty brutal.

Bottom line these guys don't play with any real basketball IQ and as someone else said we're mid-way into the season and it still looks like a rec league pick up game. Is Cal still having fun? What a joke.


Back to the box score: Aidoo shot 3 threes and nailed 0. Theiro took an open one and missed.. Ok I can live with that. Big Zilch took one and flopped. Brazile made 2 triples out of 2 in his 10 minutes of action. So math and all that that's 7 attempts out of your "bigs" and 2 makes...that's not taking care of possessions very well IMO.

Everyone got caught up in the Chicken Nuggets with this team and nobody listened to Cal when he said this will take some time. I guess he wasn't kidding at all. No really if there's money this shouldn't be taking that much time at all. We got shitty over paid basketball players.
