Woke up Tuesday morning in Lake Charles to a light snow with about an inch of accumulation, texted a friend in Conway that it looked like it might have been exaggerated.  At 8 it started getting heavier and by 9 it was coming down as hard as I've ever seen it snow.  Stopped at noon and we had 6-8 at the house.  By noon Wednesday my driveway and street were almost completely dry.  Sunny and almost 50 today.

Birds pretty much don't store poo and pee like we do.  As soon as waste is made, it's out the door in a watery mix of poo and pee.  They gotta fly and flying means you gotta stay light on your feet and can't be carrying around all that shit (or pee).

Railroads have some pretty fucking cool snow melters.

It's no fat man or little boy, but a flat rail car modified to have a jet engine facing backwards using the afterburners to melt snow and ice and unfreeze tracks and switches. These are used in rail yards.

For clearing the main line they have a locomotive with a giant snowblower on the front that tunnels through snow drifts.

I had a hand in the electrical design of this beast and did all the alignment of the engine/main gen/air compressor.  It's an impressive build.  It's a Frankenstein made of a steam locomotive chassis, custom belly pan to support the 745emd and ar14 generator, and the sole purpose of the 4,400 hp engine is to power the generator that turns twin D88 EMD DC traction motors coupled to a monster of a custom made gear box that drives that "fan".

It was hands down one of the coolest projects I ever worked on..

It cannot move itself, and is shoved around by another (sometimes two) locomotives coupled to it, remotely controlled from the Monster.

If you're in the memphis area between 5-7 be ready...it don't look good. Look at the dew point if it gets to 70 we in real trouble. It's gone from 50 to now 67.  This is gonna get interesting. Dad and I about to go storm chasing

We got massive thunder in St. Louis last night and a lightning strike right behind my house with the big boom that I love.  Just like an April thunderstorm.

The radar projection is showing massive line of storms hitting east Arkansas, West Tennessee and West Mississippi around 6. Already a lot of hook echoes on the line as it is moving through central Arkansas.
