If we're home, it's 68. During the day when we're both at work, 74. At night when we are sleeping, 65. All year round, we have it set at 65 at night.

When we're gone during the day in the cold months, the system is turned off completely. Until we get home. May get down to 50 in the house. Where's the chef's kiss emoji?

Pigsmoke

I want it as cold as I can get it in the summer. In the winter I won't turn on the heater until it gets to 60 inside. May turn it up to 68 when it's time to shower.

I can always put more clothes on.

The Reverend SnoopHogg

It was 59 in my bedroom when I woke up this morning.  That's the way like it.

My bride keeps it on 75 during the day, but when I get home it goes to 68.

I guess my balls got used to it growing up without any air conditioning in the humid Arkansas summers.

If we were uncomfortable we would turn it down.

We do use the bfan at night which will have you waking up a 4 am with icicle nuts if you want it to.

Plus this and we live in the Satan's asshole aka Texas https://broadleys.net/using-the-20-degree-rule-for-your-ac-system/

Ya'll are a bunch of slap jaw faggots.

My mom would keep it at 80 during the summer when we lived in Louisiana and we didn't have ceiling fan in our rooms. We were conditioned.

No one on this board can help it you grew up poor.

68 at night, 72 during the day.

We turn everything off for those 3 or 4 days during winter when it gets into the low 60s.

We didn't even have central a/c until I was about 8, but we had a window unit in the living room.  No ceiling fans.  I slept with a window open(screens on) and learned to sleep through anything.  My uncle lived across the field from us and he always had a redbone hound that barked all fucking night.

Bfan?  Does it just blow air under the sheet? I have not seen such a thing.

Hell, I live in Satan's taint, SW Louisiana. It's never not humid as fuck here.  Growing up in Conway we didn't have central AC, just a big ass attic fan.  Had a huge floor furnace for heat.  Mom sold our house in 91 or 92, realtor said it would sell quicker if it had Central AC and Heat, so she had it installed as we were moving out.  Never lived in a house with AC till I moved here.

That was how it was in Hope during the 80s.  Grandparents had two gas heaters and an attic fan.

Didn't live in a house with AC till I was about 13.  A couple of times we had an attic fan.  Once for several years just one of those water cooled blowers, whatever you call them.  We survived.

swamp cooler. Most people here that live in anything old don't have ac and have swamp coolers.

Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

My thermostat is on 69 all day every day if we're home.  I pray for my family, then for my compressor, then for my grid.

SW Louisiana was where I was at.

My grandparents in OK close to Fort Smith never had central A/C or heat. A couple window units, but that's it. Plenty of fans. Grannie never used the oven, since the kitchen was built with cinder blocks, and it would get hot as hell regardless!

BASS

Grew up in a house in Bryant that was built around '72 or '73. It had central heat and air.

Parents would keep the ac around 78 during the day and turn it off at night... Had to open window and use box fans to stay cool.

In the winter the heat was always about 70, except at night they'd turn it way down and we'd use electric blankets to stay warm.
