Show-Me Hog

DeChambeau's animated complaint well after Friday's round didn't earn him a lot of fans in the locker room -- particularly Rory McIlroy, who said he was "keeping the tournament hostage."  "I won't pretend to be up here and defend Bryson. I'm not particularly fond of him," McIlroy said. "I think a lot of it's performative. I think a lot of it's for attention."  World No. 1 (Scottie) Scheffler was asked about McIlroy's comments ahead of the 3M Open.  "I've never been a big fan of personal jabs," Scheffler said.

The one who looks the worst here is the reporter.  Did someone seriously ask, "Hey Scottie, did you hear what Rory said about Bryson?"  Is the reporter an 11th grade girl?

Rookie from Vanburn tearing it up.

Stupid question probably, why does the PGA prohibit guys from wearing ahorts? I don't get it.

I'm allowing my son to skip school tomorrow to go watch the FedEx St Jude tourney tomorrow with several of his buds. Call me a shitty or great dad, ya only live once.

Ticket prices are outrageous btw

When my son asked my wife if he could go, I didn't hesitate and she didn't either. We were made for each other. Let em live a little bit

You're goddamn right. My first wife and mother of my kids is an overprotecror.

Agreed.

My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and very protective. She's loosened up a little bit. If she knew half the shit I did (she knows the other half) she would understand better where I come from. We've raised a good kid that makes good decisions. I'd rather know he's skipping class tomorrow to go to a PGA event.

Way to go Dad!

I took my 10 year old last year. He loved it! Got high five's from several top players. I was surprised he was fine with all of the walking around we did.

Wish we could have made it over this year!

Proper hydration is paramount; 2-3 beers per hour should be adequate.

Of course, having a much larger body surface area than your son and his pals, your requirements will be at least half again that amount.

TRUST THE SCIENCE.

Unfortunately I'm working. With any luck the kid has a fake ID 😂 I did tell him to hydrate. It's hot as shit out here.

That's the key, right there.  He's a good kid and (I assume) makes good grades.  Let him live a little and have some fun.

I remember taking my kids to the FedEx probably 12-14 years ago.  Another friend and his boys were with us.  My boys were 14-15 years old, but his were only 6 and 8.  We put his kids at the ropes on 18 green where the players walk out for a couple of hours.  They both left with over a dozen golf balls and a couple of gloves...all signed.

He should have fun. There is nobody out there. Looks like a bunch of us playing.

Edit: Looks to have packed up now. I guess everyone was waiting for the stars to start playing.
Well, shit...

Man, Scheffler has birdied the first 4 holes and is at -6.

I called him and told him about 18.  Yes, he's a great kid, works hard, plays baseball and golf and makes good grades. He does lawncare and there is no way I would do that in this heat.

Holler at me next time you're over here and we'll grab lunch. We can talk about high school baseball stories too.

I'm a standard bearer for the tournament. Damn, it was brutally hot out there today. Tomorrow will be my 5th day in a row walking 18. My dogs are barking.

You should wear a kilt and charge the 18th green this afternoon screaming "freedom!"
