before cal came here, i did not like him. it was probably jealousy as much as anything because he kicked our ass so much. but i was wrong about him. he's a good dude, and i'm liking him more every time i see stuff like that.

Ditto. He was easy to hate. Kentucky. Taking our best recruits. The one and dones. The slick hair and silver tongue.

But I see why he has won over so many people and it's because of who is really is and what he's done for them.

I've met him 3 times now and every time he's been extremely personable. Always willing to chat and genuine in his conversation. Much different than Muss.

I was young, but remember when Eddie Sutton left Arkansas for Kentucky. I think everybody here felt the same way then as they do now.
Oh well. Too bad, Kentucky fans.

10th in espn's most recent power rankings.  still too low.  we were toe to toe with duke and should have won that game.  michigan state too.  i think if we played them again, we win both.  we're getting better every game so far.

We'd definitely beat MSU.  Acuff wasn't very good that game.  He was trying too hard in his return to his home state and all that.

I cannot believe that John Calipari is our coach.  And I love the version we have of Cal.  The statesman version.  I would argue, from a leader and coach, this is his prime.  He's got a new fire about him that was missing his last 5 years at Kentucky, mostly due to how  toxic and stupid they are. 

I give him, and his statesman command in the locker room, full credit for Trevon Brazile.  I believe Muss was toxic, the locker room was toxic, and Braziles personality needed a coach like Cal.  His style is demanding but supportive.  He's not going to berate his guys.  He has the teams full respect.

To Brazile.  I've never been happier to see a player get flowers after all the up and downs he's had.  He's still a hot head and things can turn south, but he appears to have turned into the star we've all thought he could be.  He's loyal and is 100 percent a Razorback.  He's been here 4 years and that's remarkable these days. He's a great Razorback and he can take this team all the way. 

Darius Acuff continues to amaze the country.  The comp that I have that nobody is bringing up is Andre Miller from Utah.  He reminds me of Miller so much.  23 points, 10 assists and 0 turnovers against Queens.  I mentioned his assist to turnover ratio after Louisville rivaling Mayberry.  It's obviously getting even better, because he's getting even better.  How good can he be?  It's exciting to think about.  Acuff, to this point, is outproducing any guard Cal has ever had.  That's Derrick Rose and John Wall even.

Woopig, Cal is your coach and Acuff is your point guard.  It doesn't get any better than that.

Always loved watching Miller play. Want flashy but he was effective. Those Majerus teams were really good. I'd say Acuff is a better shooter, but his pace and passing is similar to Miller. Both are smaller, but physical PGs.

I think ten games or so into the season, Acuff is playing point guard at a level better than anyone ever has at Arkansas.  I'm not necessarily saying he is better than Mayberry was, just that his last few games have been better than any point guard I can remember at Arkansas

I love how cool and unflappable he is and how he doesn't get sped up.  Those qualities are going to be huge down the stretch and in the tournament.

The only concern with Acuff and Thomas is that they might hit the freshman wall like so many do.  They are going to go through some rough patches and have to adapt.  Thomas looks like he might already be in that stage.

Thomas hsd had a couple of off games shooting,  but you know he's going to get it going.

Thomas will eventually get his groove back.  If we can get Pringle to where he consistently can get 8-10 points, and 5 rebounds per game, we'll be in good shape.

It doesn't even have to be Pringle.  Get either him or Ewin to that point, and have the other competent enough to give rest and or cover for foul trouble. 

Pringle is dealing with a back injury.  Don't know about the Queens game, but in at least the two previous games vs Tech and Fresno, any time he came to the bench he immediately put on some sort of back belt/brace.

I don't know if Acuff played FB in high school but he has the build of a helluva RB or S.

Don't know if they've played anybody, but Houston has the 2nd ranked scoring defense in the nation. They are only giving up 57.7 points per game. I think the Hogs are giving up like 77 points per game.

If they slow us down into a half court game and don't let us get our normal amount of transition buckets, this could be a tough one.
