Now it's 9-6 Tenner.  Looks like a good game.

11-6.  Sorry everyone, go back to not paying any attention to this circus.

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Damn Bama, you really gave us false hope on this one.

UGA gave Wes Johnson a raise and extension.  Good for him to get paid without having to go to Stankville

Go OU!  I'm just cheering for chaos right now.

Ole Miss beat Florida in the middle of the night (for me) and we play them 3:00 Friday. That would appear to start on time because we are the first game of the day.

In other news, how do the #2 and #3 seeds get to start on Friday, while the #1 seed has to play today?

Texas won't have to play again until Saturday and we would play next day, assuming we both win.   I guess the advantage for Texas would be in the finals on Sunday and being able to use some relievers that were used on Thursday.

Hognrock

I don't care about the SECT when we have a national seed locked up, but if I did want to win it, I'd prefer Thursday over Friday for the reason listed above.  Also, if you DGAF about the SECT you can leave a day earlier after a loss.

Don't get me wrong, I'll watch every game I can because it is great baseball.  I just don't want us to sell out to win it if it hampers our NCAA tourney chances.  Get as many young guys as we can meaningful reps for development.

Our starting pitchers need as much rest as possible so we need to lose tomorrow

I want our top guys getting some work this weekend.  Don't kill anyone but would love to see the starters throw 50 each and bullpen get an inning each.

Hizog

We have several relief pitchers that need some more reps going into the postseason. I would expect our starters to have low pitch count and then try to get some of the other guys reps. Especially Dietz and Coil.

Agree with this.  Don't go full Jay Johnson and throw them until their arms fall off.  But I don't like the idea of them going two weeks between outings either.

Let's hope none of our hitters get knocked out for the season like eATMe's LaViolette had happen. If they make it, I doubt he plays again. Got hit in the knuckles while swinging at a fast ball. Looks to have a cast of some kind on now.
Well, shit...

#33
Lol Auburn ends the inning early when the runner slides 2 feet away from the bag.  Went from runner on 3rd with 1 out to 2 outs and ending the 8th inning.

3-1 Aggie.

Auburn got bitchslapped on the review call too.  "This is an NCAA safety rule."

that was fucky.  runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out, new pitcher comes in,

trying for a 4-6-3 dp, the runner going into second gets down so as not to get an interference call, and 1st base is ruled out as well because he slid too far outside the base path.

we'd be pissed if that happened to arkansas.  that slide had no affect on the play.
Fuck your feelings

That X view is the classic "I saw it clear as day from my seat 500 feet away in the right field stands."

Unless I'm mistaken and they've changed it, the MLB rule is as long as the runner can reasonably reach the base the slide is legal.  Looks like under that standard it shouldn't have been called interference, but the NCAA may have a different rule.

This is baseball 101, and the easiest call that ump made all day.

SECTION 4. The intent of the force-play-slide rule is to ensure the safety of all players. This is a safety and an interference rule. Whether the defense could have completed the double play has no bearing on the applicability of this rule. This rule pertains to a force-play situation at any base, regardless of the number of outs.

a. On any force play, the runner must slide on the ground before the base and in a direct line between the two bases. It is permissible for the slider's momentum to carry him through the base in the baseline extended (see diagram).
Exception—A runner need not slide directly into a base as long as the runner slides or runs in a direction away from the fielder to avoid making contact or altering the play of the fielder. Interference shall not be called.

That clears it up.  Good call.
