Does winning the baseball tournament get an automatic NCAA bid? It almost never matters bc an SEC team that good would get in anyway, but it might matter this year for A&M.

Agree with this.  Don't go full Jay Johnson and throw them until their arms fall off.  But I don't like the idea of them going two weeks between outings either.

Matt Hobbs said putting Hagen Smith on a pitch count last year was a bad move.  Quote from DemGaz this morning  "The biggest mistake I could've made. If we're going to rest a guy, I just won't pitch him".

He said Hagen is a competitor and told him to just go get some work in.

Yes, winner gets an auto bid and it usually doesn't matter because that team was already getting in the NCAAT.  I think that's the only way A&M gets in but Lavoilette(sp) breaking his hand hurts their chances to get that far.  Maybe if they get to the champ game they get an at large but I doubt it.  I wouldn't want them in my bracket as a regional host team.
