Yep and I'd even give up two to have the bases cleared. A home run in that situation often kills momentum.

Creighton broke it open here in the 6th inning with 5 runs.

Currently leading KU 8-3

EDIT - a 2 out RBI double makes it 9-3.

EDIT - another 2 out double makes it 10-3. Creighton is raking.

To me, it's a "don't worry about that guy" mentality. It's a runner on base either way. Focus on the batter and get him out. Risk/reward. Errand throw or some bs and guys on third or worse, then possible walk or whatever and you get traffic, which ensues guys getting a bit more nervous and making mistakes.  One guy comes around to score, and more on the bases still and the cycle continues. Maybe a stupid take, but I think it was a calculated move to allow it.

Agree it was calculated and if we had been up by say 6 or more, just don't agree with giving up on the double play only up 4

Still ESPN+ I assume?  NCAA's website says it is but they're also still showing it as an 8pm game.  Wonder why the change if not for TV purposes?

I don't hate it, but that's a ton of swing and miss in 6-9.

I posted this yesterday, but Robinett has absolutely fallen off a cliff since Texas and turned into a strikeout machine. He's the inverse of Diggs in that he'll swing at the first pitch regardless of where it is, foul the second one off. He's 0-2 in the blink of an eye on seemingly every count.

But we're stuck with him at 1st, because Peppi is much worse at the plate.
