It's almost coaching malpractice for DVH to continue to have him in the lineup.

He has ZERO power. Has 1 (!) homer on the year. His OPS in SEC games is .535. That's absolutely horrendous for a first baseman.

Aloy has fallen off a cliff, but at least he can crank one if he can barrel it up. Robinett is swinging a dead bat.

Check out my post in the other baseball thread. Jay Johnson is saying the same thing. It's becoming a bad trend throughout all of baseball.

Get about 10 minutes in and listen to them talk about Luke Raley. Strikes out 33% of the time, but has an insane (over 1.000) OPS because when he does hit the ball it goes up into the air and sometimes over the wall.

Stat exists, stat gets prioritized, players want to chase it as early as possible.

The announcers talked about Aloy's insane corkscrew motion and recoil.

His swing and miss is so bad it's almost comical. He swings so hard and then recoils intensely that it looks like a swing motion in rewind.

His swing has gotten markedly worse since he's been here.

It's not the hard swing for Aloy so much as it is the inability to pick up spin.   

The whole team would benefit from shortening up on two strike counts.

No surprise that he's basically not seeing fastballs anywhere near the zone anymore and is seeing a healthy dose of breaking pitches and low and away.

Same with Souza. He can hit a fastball but a pitch in the dirt is his kryptonire. I'd hazard a guess 90% of his swinging strikeouts are on dirtballs.
