Was gonna ask how to watch.  I'll donate to Auntie Flo if I get to watch some Hogs baseball.

vegashog

Yeah, YouTube streamed the OK/TTgame. FloBaseball.tv will show the other games. TCU/Vandy is on right now. FloTV is 29.99 a month and you can cancel at any time.
Well, shit...

Flo made it available, presumably for marketing purposes.

I think.

I watched them all last year w/out subscribing. Some fine fellow here posted a link to a user on YouTube and it did the job.

EDIT:

It was Gambler and the handle was cajunomics. I'm not vouching for them this year, just that it worked last year.

Vanderbilt dorked it away. Glad it didn't go extra innings.

Is TCU going to hang 20 on us again this year?

The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

This was working well.

They are currently having an issue though.  FloSports is forcing a relogin.  It might be they caught on to the fact 5,000 people were using it.

We play Xavier for a three game series starting today at 3:00. I will not be available for PBP.
Well, shit...

My daughter and I are going to the Texas A&M game on Wednesday.  We have decided to also catch the baseball game at 3:00 that day.  If anyone happens to have 2 tickets for that one, I will take them.

Barton Fink

Got some Hogpen tix if you want'em.

I sent you a PM... I think.

(Copy pasta repost from the Xavier thread because I'm lazy)

Updated stats after the first 2 series.

TL;DR version - the top half of our lineup is hitting pretty well, but there's a pretty clear line between top 5 and bottom 4.

Souza is what he's always been. Niu is a hole right now, but Pompey is shocking to me. Kid was a freshman All-American in 2024 and slashed .348/.397/.623 last year before getting hurt. Brumbaugh is probably going to be a John Bolton situation this year as a freshen — a good glove at short but an automatic out at the plate.

Offense (BA / OBP / SLG)
Kuhio Aloy — .474 / .524 / .947
Damian Ruiz — .412 / .583 / .412
Camden Kozeal — .385 / .515 / .962
Reese Robinett — .360 / .407 / .520
Ryder Helfrick — .310 / .394 / .759
Nolan Souza — .222 / .250 / .333
TJ Pompey — .208 / .286 / .250
Maika Niu — .179 / .226 / .321
Carson Brumbaugh — .111 / .143 / .111

Pitching:
(Starters)
Colin Fisher — 0.00 ERA
Gabe Gaeckle — 1.93 ERA
Hunter Dietz — 9.00 ERA

(Bullpen)
Steele Eaves — 0.00 ERA
Ethan McElvain — 0.00 ERA
James DeCremer — 0.00 ERA
Mark Brissey — 0.00 ERA
Peyton Lee — 2.08 ERA
Parker Coil — 6.75 ERA
Jackson Kircher — 9.00 ERA
Cooper Dossett — 54.00 ERA

It's very early but Niu and Pompey have been big disappointments. Ruiz seems to have turned it on at just the right time.

Ruiz didn't get on base Friday that I recall but he hit the ball really hard twice.  One fly ball to the wall and one piss missile line out to LF.  I suspect that Stewart's performance yesterday earned him more at bats, which may shift Ruiz to CF and Niu to the dugout.

The hope is that Souza's arm recovers enough by mid to late season that he can take over shortstop and move Brumbaugh or Pompey to the bench if they don't start hitting.

Souza is going to be fine I think.  He doesn't need to be the leadoff guy...too much swing and miss, but he's going to probably end up .280 plus with double digit doubles and HRs.  He's started slowly all three years...not a lot of cold weather in Hawaii which could explain it.

Good points all around.

Stewart hit well yesterday but also had several great catches and excellent reads off the bat in LF yesterday. He may very well play himself into the everyday lineup.

I'm willing to cut Pompey a bit of slack. He's done it before at a good program in a good conference. I think he's just pressing right now. Honestly, I'd rather have him in the lineup than Brumbaugh. A few years ago I declared Caleb Cali the worst batter I'd ever seen don a Razorback uniform, and he ultimately ended the season as one of our best hitters. Some guys just take a while to settle in, and I give a bit more leniency to guys who've done it before.

Niu and Brumbaugh, conversely, are liabilities at the plate. I don't feel good about our chances if both are everyday players.

Souza coming back to the field would free up a DH spot and give us a bit more flexibility.
