Basically they were looking at all the measurables and trying to work out how a kid would progress once they hit the SEC level. They often went after poor kids that hadn't been spoiled and far less likely to have hit their peak as athletes. In saying all that I imagine it's changed a lot now that we are mostly going after transfers over first year freshman as most everyone is. The diamonds in the rough are now the Isaac TeSlaa's of the world that are going to be unicorns for the most part.

Careful, there's someone here who said we haven't had a good o line since '06. And they're never wrong about anything. Wouldn't want to ruffle his little feathers and have him run off again.

Byran Jones was below SEC average and never pissed a drop. DD showed early promise and his last two years just sort of flatlined. It's weird how Wise, Philon, and Flowers became much better players once they got the hell out of here.

Monte Harrison had TD catches of 70, 63, and 45 yards in the scrimmage. So that means he probably won't see the field.

Philon and Flowers were really good here.  Jones and Jones were replacement level, but still far better than most we've had before or since in the SEC era. 

The biggest issue in those guys not performing as well as they should have here was the fact that BP kept moron placeholders as defensive coordinators...almost certainly because the good ones didn't want to work for him.

1st team offense had their way with the 2nd team secondary according to pittman. things supposedly tightened up when it was ones against ones.

sounds like depth on defense is a problem. again.
