They would have beaten the shit out of us during the Morris years, as well the Johnelle season and year 1 of Bert.

Jonesboro High would've beaten us during the Morris years.

My two takeaways:

1. This isn't a rivalry.  It's light years away from an ole miss/ state, Iowa/Iowa state or Texas/ Tamu.  JFB has it right.  There is a single premier program in the state and it's getting hard to man it. This needs to die and be buried under a mile of concrete and then covered in nuclear waste.  Forever.  Fuck them injuns.

2.  Use the same treatment on WMS.  Great memories of the place of killer games, but it was also a pisstrough then and is worse now. It's an unneeded disruptive road game.  Kill it.  If you're going on the road for a home game do it at Jerryworld.

A friend of man went to the game and said it was a cluster fuck from getting in, getting concessions, piss poor cell phone service, and not being able to move around the stadium from the inside.

Apparently those who went got a free Chick-fil-A sandwich, but couldn't download the coupon. Also could get raffle tickets since the pot is now $70K.

Watching the highlights. The KO TD return was just a classic case of getting out of your lane.

2 of our guys were covering the left side and drifted into the middle of the field where the pack was.  The returner cut back to his right (the left side) where he should have run right into them. Except they weren't there.

It's just assignment discipline.

I'm glad that's over. I still say it was dumb to play it if for no other reason it was disrespectful to Broyles. I hope that game is never played again. I hope we never play in wms again. They are both a net negative for Arkansas. I wish we didn't have the ko return and throw the 2 picks. They had the ball for 37 minutes and managed 285 yards, but I still saw concerning things on defense. We still need three more victories to salvage Sam's job. Might be a tall order. The only hope is Bobby. He had his way today.

That stretch where they had Freeze, Malzahn, and Harsin was their golden era, and it coincided with our worst years as a program in half a century. They would have beaten us more than not if we played from 2012-2020.

Coach Broyles got the last laugh though, and at WMS. That's pretty fitting that the 1-way rivalry was finally delt with at our last contracted game there.

I'm fine with playing A-State but it needs to be treated like a rent-a-win game just like all the other non-cons against non P4's. It's not a rivalry and likely never will be in our life times. No lowering ourselves to travel to Jonesboro. If they want to play us then they can come to RRS once a year to take their rape fee and leave.
