I've said this for years.

An AD has 2 core job responsibilities: hire good coaches and raise money. Ours sucks at both, to the point where those two factors exacerbate each other.

We have a shitty football coach but we can't afford to buy him out. We can't afford to buy him out out because there's zero fan/donor enthusiasm around our football program because we have a shitty coach. It's a vicious cycle.

I don't get what he is saying at all.  The vast majority of our games are not lost because of talent.  It is becaue of bad coaching decisons and just downright shitty luck.  The ball literally doesn't bounce our way.

My counter arguement would be if we started winning games like the Ole Miss game Saturday, then we would organically elevate our recruiting becasue kids want to play for teams that win 9 and 10 games each year.  No one gets excited about playing for a 5 or 6 win team.

Plus, it's just a stupid argument.  Competitive in the SEC means you are competitive in the playoff race. Unless, of course, he literally thinks it is an acceptable to merely not be blown out in most of our SEC games.

To be clear, I'm not saying we have the talent to compete for an SEC championship today.  We do have the talent to win 9 games.
