Quote from: BleedinRed on Sep 29, 2025, 12:29 PMI somewhat diagree.  I think HY, like the fans, are looking for effort going foward.  The season is lost.  It just is.  And there are significant issues with what the previous coaches have done.  That is clear.  I think HY is going to evaluate BP on his ability to right the ship going foward.

Maybe, I just think the politics of it all means Bobby needs to prove "Bobby's back." It's hard to imagine us losing a bunch of close games anymore. Either the team will buy in and we'll win the games like we almost did vs Ole Miss, or the team will give up on him, in which case I don't think Bobby will be able to convince the big money guys to give him a fresh start. I think the big money guys want a Cal-type splash hire but are fine with sticking with Bobby if he wins. If he doesn't win, no matter the circumstances, I don't think he stays.

100%.  If he can keep the team together and they improve effort then he might get the chance to right the wrongs from 2012.

Quote from: BleedinRed on Sep 29, 2025, 12:30 PMBP missed being on the sideline.  Weird as he was in total control of where he sat.  Almost like he was fed up with the coaches and just wanted to be away from it all.
I believe this. He didn't want to be on the ground with that shit show. He knew before the season started they were in trouble.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

I wouldn't either I imagine it was more of let me bite my lip and stay away or he might say something he'd regret
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

not just the politics.

yurachek made it very clear they will reach out to other guys, like now. they won't spend the money and time, or extend the offers like yurachek said they would, if they have their guy already.

petrino may very well be the next hc but i don't see it like a lock as some on here.

BleedinRed

I don't think BP is a lock.  He needs to perform over the next 9 games.

I'll say this, I want BP.  For the first time in 6 years we had a head coach at the podium.  It felt good.

Quote from: BleedinRed on Sep 29, 2025, 12:33 PMBP said again about the defense..."they will run to the ball"  He has said that a few times now.

He has seen what I have seen. I doubt you could go  back to watch any game where we had more than 4-5 players at a tackle. I enjoy watching 11 go to the ball, as should anyone who gives a shit about playing football.

I know I've said I would mail back my degree if that turd was ever employed at the U of A again, but I'd make an exception if Bobby would hire Nutt as his offensive coordinator...without play calling duties.

i'd be perfectly happy with the guy. but to think that, despite how hard they play, getting 50 put on us by the vols and aggie isn't going to matter, doesn't make sense to me.

he's going to have to win some games on the scoreboard.

To be fair, there isn't head coach alive that could be put into the head coaching positon that could prevent 50 by the vols and aggies.  BP has nothing to do with the roster and scheme for this year.  I think HY understands that.

There was one play Saturday...may have been the last TD before halftime...where we had three guys in perfect position surrounding the ND pass receiver.  The only way out was to go backwards or run through three guys.  Yet somehow he made it through them without being touched, and went on to score on a breakaway.

You could pick any three of us, place us in that exact same spot, and I think we could've tackled the ball carrier.  We almost had to go out of our way to let him out.

ok, but we've heard, somewhat correctly, that the talent is there and the coaches were the problem.

change coaches and now it's the talent. or that will be the excuse moving forward maybe.

That wasn't what I was trying to say.

It is alot to ask of any coach to come in 5 games into the season and fundamentally change the defense and STs.  Even with great talent you need an offseason with consistent coaching to make a great unit.

I'm hopefull that HY is truthful when he says he doesn't expect miracles.  He wants to see effort.

Can he tell the players that anyone who hits the portal can fuck right off? Pack your shit and get out of my locker room and off of my campus, and leave anything with a Razorback on it behind?

That would change my stiffy to a full on boner.
