He has to lead us down the field and score on almost every drive for us to have a chance to win. He's getting zero help from the defense.

There's not a QB in the country whose going to succeed under those circumstances.

We had 0 turnovers, 1 tod, and 2 punts. Have to keep those combined at 1 or fewer to win with this defense. We did that last night against a really good defense

as dirk said, we get run out of the stadium if it weren't for green.

it can't be stated enough how badly we whiffed on the d-line. we are finishing games with a true freshman and a guy from ut-permian basin who was supposed to be practice depth. a 385lb run stuffer who is having to play close to 70% of the snaps. same with ball.

watching other sec teams, it's like we are high school at the position compared to them.

Both can be true.

Green is a home run hitter who will hit two HRs, commit a major fielding error letting in 3 runs, and strike out in the 9th with the bases loaded.

It's an eternal debate with no clear answer whether those kinds of guys help more or hurt more.

Give him an even half-way serviceable defense and we're not even having this conversation. He's failing because he's being asked to do the impossible.

Some consolation, my opinion that Tennessee ,Ole Miss, aTm were the 3 best opponents on our schedule and we had opportunities to win them all. The other games look more winnable now.

This is a good reminder.

It's not that far-fetched to think we could win the last five.

There might be several basketball scores, but it could happen.

Give him a half-way serviceable defense and we still have Sam.

Convince him to stop turning his back on the OLine every time he rolls left and we might have two extra wins on the year.  That move has worked for him for so long that it's apparently too difficult to teach him new tricks.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Which is to the point, TG isn't the problem, and he hasn't cost us any ballgames. In fact he's the biggest reason we're even in ballgames.

Green would need a 200 passer rating to win with this bunch of Daisey's
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Thin Red Swine

If Matt Jones is the right comparison, he had the same level of chicken shit generally, even if it wasn't concentrated on one side of the ball.

He still won some tight games we had no business winning.

I don't think Green is the biggest problem by any means, but he contributes.

Green = Gunnar Henderson

I will say this-- the crowd hung in there. Given the weather before the game, it was a damned good crowd.  Looked easily to be close to 60k, if not more. And this was the student section late in the third quarter:

I had to Google.

I know nothing so as the Orioles fan I will defer to you.

Green is a far better QB than Jones, especially as a passer.

Jones might have the edge as a scrambler but I'd still take Green over him for the ability to make catch throws more often than Jones could.

I think Talen Green is one of the best QBs in college football.

Not sure what that says about the state of QB play in college football.

Sure, as a pure thrower.  But Jones was underrated as a passer. He'd be the equivalent of junkballer Eddie Harris in "Major League."

His record as the starter was 30-20.

Green's record as a starter is 25-18, including 16-7 at Boise and 9-11 here.

Jones played 46 games. Green has played 48 and has thrown a bit over 300 more passes. But their stats are very similar, including TD:INT, YPA and YPC.

I'm not sure who I'd take, but I don't remember quite as many WTF moments from Jones. Maybe that's my faulty old memory blocking it.
