Woo Pig.

Not to nitpick, but it's been 11 years. 2014-15 season we started 2-0.

Quote from: Pig Benis on Jan 07, 2026, 10:07 PMHaving Acuff in the last 2 minutes is invaluable. He's on another level. Just give it to him and call it a day.
There's a new leader in the clubhouse for most talented Razorback ever.

I never thought I'd say this, but I don't cringe anymore when Brazile shoots in big situations.

Getting a road win anywhere in the SEC is worth clinking glasses. Even good teams lose at some of the most godawful places. Specifically us at Oxford and Starkville for some reason. And yeah I know a lot of ours between Nolan and Muss weren't good teams.

RPL

I hated everything about that game last night, except for the outcome.

The pace of the game. It took me back to the days of Eddie Sutton ball when the Hogs were playing Weber State. The last few minutes of the game were ticking down and the score was 47 to 38. Obviously the score of the game was into the 90s for both teams, but it sure seemed slow to me. The game lasted forever.

The University of Mississippi arena. Didn't they just spend a lot of money for a new arena? Did they bring the lighting from the TadPad over? I thought I needed to break out the kerosene lanterns to help light up the arena. Good Lord it was awful. Also, the location of the television cameras were horrible. The angles were horrible.

The color commentator. Good God, Rodney Terry is awful. No wonder Texass (spit!) fired him. The voice alone was horrible.  I thought SECN couldn't find anyone to serve as color commentator and they picked up some Oxford area local yokel high school basketball coach.  Made me wish for Doris Burke.

Good to see lots of empty seats at the University of Mississippi.

GTHOMGTH.

that's what you get when playing against chris beard. weird pace and a lot of turnovers.

Acuff's quickness when he drives is a luxury I don't recall us ever having...ever. Not to his level anyway. He's so quick, it's forcing defenses to collapse. They have no choice, otherwise he has blown by his defender and will kill them with teardrop floaters all game. And when they do collapse hard, he finds the open man. Our ceiling will be how well our guys can consistently hit their uncontested shots (Captain Obvious).

Kareem Reid had that quickness but he was 5'8" and made Billy Richmond look like Pat Bradley from beyond the arc.

Tomato. Tomato. In a pick-up game, if you want Kareem that is your choice, but give me Darius.

Not at all what I said, and not sure how you could take that from it.

I don't think anyone is picking the 5'8" guy who is equally quick as the 6'3 guy but also a sub 30% outside shooter with a shorter three point line, pickup game or otherwise.

I think with Acuff that his ability, knack and willingness to kick the ball out with good accuracy and control while penetrating is the biggest difference in previous guys the past 25 years. We've had guys be able to penetrate the lane but then just bull rush the rim or get stuck in the lane.  I don't really recall Acuff losing his step very often. He seems to always know where the open guys are.

The Whyte Boar

Like I've said before I just love the way Acuff gets to the next level with so little fuss.  He doesn't waste time setting up his man with all these one on one moves, he just goes and there isn't anything they can do to stop it.  It's just a thing of beauty.

Son of Spam

It impresses me that we are hitting shots on the road. In the past, it seemed like we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on the road.
Well, shit...

I was told they would have almost no fans there since everyone was flying out to Arizona for the football game.

All I said was, in my opinion, Acuff was the best player we've had from a PG perspective with the ability to collapse defenses. You introduced Kareem, implying, "I'll see your Darius, and raise you a Kareem."
Not looking for an argument, let's enjoy the man while we have him.

Nor am I.  I was agreeing with your point.

Glad to be the less important half of the parley in a tough couple of nights for the Shark Bears.

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.
