Not quite as eloquent as Mike Nail, but probably what he really wanted to say.

I'm pretty sure that was a Nolan quote nobody could print.   :D
Oak Grove in the house.

I had a chuckle reading this thread. I was a little medicated that night. It was fun watching the whole game again and posting like that.

Someone mentioned the citadel game. Not sure I can watch that one a second time. I saw it live. Reliving every play again may make we want to hurry myself.

Hadn't thought about other games before now. That could be fun.

That Citadel game was something. My sophomore year on campus. I spent most of that summer in Fayetteville.  My roommate and I went to a few practices. My roommate was a good high school player and knew football. I had 3 former high school teammates playing for the hogs at the time. Labor Day weekend. I remember walking back to the fraternity house with my roommate and proclaimed my disbelief about losing. My roommate was "Are you serious?  We watched them practice. We could start on this team."  One of my high school teammates ended up being all sec. He told me come to practice every time I saw him. I was busy drinking and not wanting to be a 6'2" 200 pound tight end in the sec. Keep in mind we sucked so bad back then. Dean Peavy. 5"6' white kid was our best defender. I was my pledge trainer for my fraternity the next year. Had a good kid. Did everything you could ask. He started working out religiously and eating a dozen eggs a day. Turned into a super meat head. I asked him what he was doing. He said he was going to try out for the hogs. I told him you just don't show up at practice and say you want to be a hog. He gave no fucks and did it and ended up being the starting full back for our 1995 championship season.

I don't know where I'm going with this other than csb and all you had to do to play for the hogs then was show up and we lost to the Citadel. But JJ Meadors caught that fucking ball. That's my group.

Thanks my friend. It will get glossed over in the anals of woopig. I'm going to try to send it to the five guys I mentioned.

Alex Harris was the fullback. Great kid. Great hog. Literally converted a 3rd down to give us the win over Alabama.  I have to find him now.

I printed it and will keep it next to my signed JFB football.

My brother in law was there for all of it. He reads the board and could verify all of that but he's a fag.

Yall want to talk about being on campus for the last game in barnhill and winning a national championship? How about my method for counterfeiting 100 student tickets a game?

Here's the deal. My dad got on campus in '64. Running from Vietnam. They didn't loose a game on campus for two years. He sat in an ice storm to see the Cotton Bowl that year. My grandmother that graduated in '39 took my mom and dad to see it.

My uncle (well technically he's my cousin but he's older than my parents so I call him my uncle), his father grew up and lived in Fort Smith and had season tickets since the 1940s on the home side.

He went to every Fayetteville game from probably 1946 on (he fought in the Pacific in WWII) and he and my uncle went to the Citadel game to open the 1992 season.

After the game, apparently he was so distraught that we had lost to them that he turned to his son and said, "you can keep the tickets but I'm never stepping foot back in that stadium again."

Four years later, he had a heart attack mowing his grass in the summer heat. Passed away. And never did set foot in Razorback Stadium after 9/5/1992.

That last game in Barnhill. Electric. A bunch of freshmen that would end up winning a natty. Beat the fuck out of a good LSU team. There was a whole sending Barnhill off ceremony with a little ghey shit like Broyles carrying out a big bowl to call the hogs one more time and take the bowl to Walton. Fucking Dale Brown. His team just got beat. He comes out of the locker room and gives the most inspirational speech praising Richardson, the team, the fans, the university while his team is showering up to go back to Baton Rouge after getting shit stomped. Who does that? Dale fucking Brown.  Classiest thing I ever saw.
