It would take a mid-season firing of our OC and a new scheme thay somehow clicks with our OL.

That's not happening

Quote from: Barton Fink on Sep 27, 2026, 08:01 AMYeah, I'm not a fan of Cramsey. Still can't run the ball. No jet sweeps or at least decoys to get the defense moving. Too many dunk passes. Still rolling KJ out right too much.
Last night was the first game I've seen them try any sort of mis-direction and eventually Tulsa was figuring out the QB keepers. I think these guys have some tells.

Biddy pointed out that when the backup RT came in late in the game on the next series after the KJ INT is when the running game kind of improved a bit. Of course it was pretty much close out time by then. Our weakest links seem to be #71 and the RT Williams...both seem to stand straight up at the point of attack and get their shit packed on every down. For all the hype...Brannum aint much account either.

I answered it earlier in this thread.
Well, shit...

I said it during the game thread, our OL is weak as fucking shit.  Oh, they might be able to put up some weight in the weightroom, but it comes to actually applying that strength, they are weak as fuck.  They can't move anyone of even similar size.  You see them getting stood up by LB's and getting no push.  That is fucking crazy.  They should NEVER, ever get stalemated by a LB when they have almost 100lbs on them.  That is just being weak and bad form where they get no fucking leverage.

They need to spend an entire summer pushing round bails end over end or something to figure out how to fucking move shit that doesn't want to move, because they don't seem to have any clue how to do that.

Not only that but, instead of doing the "tush push" like every other offensive line in America when our tip-toeing RB's (inevitably) get stood up one yard past the LOS, they stand around like rubberneckers at a car wreck.

I'll give them this, though; when their man decleats our QB in the pocket they are excellent "helper-uppers".

Whatever year it was when Austin Allen was QB there were always photos of him with a dirty uniform and his OL guys didn't have a mark on them. It was pretty telling. This line makes those guys look like 80s Redskins.

We settled for FGs 4 times when our offense sputtered. SC looked bad against Bama and Aggie looked bad against LSU.

Not enough for me to change my doom forecast.

They didn't claim a sellout. Capacity is 76,000 not 72,000.

I'd bet there was 68K there last night or so.

The only team I've not really watched is Vandy.

Everyone else will beat us handily.

I don't think it's weakness.  It's leverage.  Their pad level is way too high, and low man wins.  I think they are being coached to do that, and it's dumb as hell.  I finally got to watch the game this morning, and sure enough I see the exact same problems over and over again.  They didn't fix a thing from our last games.  OL pad level is too high, run blocks are separated just like a pass play, and no hip roll.  You can't out leverage a DL like that.  KJ's mechanics are all over the place particularly when trying for the quick throw, which is why he's constantly throwing short on the quick pass.

I don't like Cramsey's offense.  Sure he has some play calls that are there, and the execution is fucked... but you can't win in the SEC with his offense.  You sure as hell can't win games with "perfect play" calls that the players can't execute.  Why are you rolling a lefty out right so much??  It makes no damned sense to me.  It's like Cramsey can't adjust his play sheet for a left hand QB.

If you can't get leverage, aka, apply force, you are weak.  They might be studs in the weight room, but they can't fucking move shit on the field. That makes them weak as baby shit when it comes to practical application.

The Whyte Boar

I really really hate our offense.  It looks like something out of Texas 4A high school ball.  It is very much like that mess we had with Chad, though I would venture to say, not as good.

Yup.  I hate it way more than I hated Mr Finger Tapes'.  His offense had a lot of really dumb behind the LOS and head scratching calls... but Cramsey's offense seems to be ALL crap like that.  Hell, he rarely ever attacks the center of the field.  It won't work in the SEC.  Maybe in the FCS, but in the SEC where the size and speed is incredible??  Hard no!

They are giving KJ short easy passes for a reason. Having him throw over the middle of the field is asking for interceptions and probably sacks since at least 3/4's of the offensive line doesn't understand they aren't setting screens in basketball.

Surely RS see that his offense sucks and knows he has to make a change.

Wish we would have gotten Morris instead of this lot.

I get what you're saying... but if that were the case, why would they have longer developing sideline throws?  Game after game we see the middle of the field wide open.  We just don't ever attack it much.  When we do it's double coverage, or a quick release that KJ can't seem to manage to do (seems like mechanics to me... he didn't have that problem last year).

Well how was anybody supposed to know that the SEC's kryptonite wasn't an offense that counts to three before tossing a slow pitch out to the sideline with no blockers?

with WRs upset they have to run block making it so obvious the defense doesn't have to guess.

Basically they just keep announcing that maximum revenue is being achieved.
