Kentucky moved so fast I think Stein was their guy they had in mind long before they pulled the trigger on Stoops. The Louisville game just forced their hand.

I guess we're getting old that dudes from 2012 in college are now SEC head coaches. Collin Kiein (oc at A&M) probably not far behind odds on favorite to replace dude at K-State possibly sooner rather than later but it's looking like guy will have the job for another year.

I may be mistaken but Will Stein probably would have been recruited by Petrino so there could be some relationship there but if so it's probably thin.

Bobby left Louisville in 2006.  Stein played there from 2008-2012.  They probably had contact though while Stein was an underclassman being recruited. 

Don't see Bobby as a slapdick though.

We play a murderers row schedule in the SEC every year, yet we go schedule OOC games against the likes of ND and Utah, and a plucky Memphis team getting playoff buzz. Meanwhile Ole Miss and Mizzou keep scheduling teams like the Citadel and Kent State.

The SEC requires everyone to have one P4 non-conference game per year. 

Utah, ND, etc don't bother me for that reason.   There is zero justification for ever playing Memphis, much less doing it at their place.  Same for traveling to Tulsa in 2027.
