Texas and Tennessee?

I would have gone Alabama (no brainer) and Notre Dame (they're everywhere bc of Touchdown Jesus).

Things of that nature

I've not see the topic brought up but it's my understanding that a measure was passed taking away stopping the clock on a made 1st down. This should no doubt speed up these games from 5 hours to 4.5 hours.

I think these XFL rules would be interesting in the college game. I'm not exactly sure what it is...like the take a 4th and 15 instead of the extra point or something like that. I think they also do some shit with the clock under the 4 min mark. Allows for some interesting comeback attempts.

I think the 4th and 15 is in lieu of a kickoff.  But I like it. Houston Dale would've probably won national championship under those rules.

Or gone winless.

Show-Me Hog

I like the XFL regular kickoff where the two teams (except the kicker and returner) line up 5 yards apart and start play when the ball is received not kicked.

Meh about 4th and 15 instead of onsides kicks.

Don't like 1-pt conversion from the 2 (no PATs at all), 2 pts from the 5, 3 pts from the 10. Give me the old PAT or 2-pt.

Don't like college running clock after first down. They will keep the clock stop in last 2 minutes.

I hate all this talk about changing the rules.  Fucking stupid.   This isn't about the fans or players.  This is about TV scheduling.  They never consider cutting down on Tv commercials.

Here's a hot tip for the USFL and XFL. I'd rather watch hot females from south America playing flag football.

Interesting post placement.

But anyway, you mean you'd rather watch bunda than Buddha?

BASS

Not a fan. Never in the history of college football have I ever thought a team not ranked in the top 4 deserved to be national champion.

Closest was auburn '04, which was ranked 3rd.  That's the only time I can remember a team not in the to two being in the argument. 4 team playoff fixed that.

This is nothing but a money grab that will dilute importance of the regular season.  Ohio State-Michigan, Alabama-lsu, sec champ game, all now irrelevant in your chances to win the title.

Arkansas is and likely always will be irrelevant in a four team playoff scenario.

There have been times where we would have made it, or at least been in strong contention at the end, in a twelve team race.

I couldn't give a fuck less about the health of the sport or the fairness of it.  If it benefits the Hogs I'm in favor of it, and I think the expansion qualifies.

Not even after the 77-78 season?

BleedinRed

I like the expanded 12 team playoff.  I'd make it 16.  I don't think that it dilutes the importance of the regular season any more than what already exists.  A team like Arkansas loses 1 game and the path is almost impossible.  Expansion means that there is still a path.  And winning regular season games still matter.

Yeah, I would have put Ohio State ahead of Tennessee
