What do we think the chances are the athletes win this case?  I would think schools making payments directly to the athletes would kill college sports.

The plaintiffs' complaint alleges that even in the NCAA's current NIL environment, which became much less regulated in July 2021, "the NCAA has not suspended enforcement of critical aspects of its NIL restraints, including those restraints prohibiting NCAA institutions from compensating student-athletes for use of their NILs, as well as restraints prohibiting NIL compensation from being contingent upon athletic participation or performance, or enrollment at a particular school.

Very good chance they'll win the case. The genie is already out of the bottle and the NCAA is standing with the empty bottle. College sports as we know it is gone. NIL started that roll and its' going to keep getting worse. NCAA is trying it's best to be viable. I don't think it'll be long before the major conferences break out of the NCAA.

Not literally, but the expectation level goes up and the "innocence" of the college game is gone (I know, it's been gone for a long time, I'm old).  I did listen to Bilas and I agree with him, especially concerning the NCAA. I'm not a fan of the NCAA and hope their time is about over. I do think players should be compensated and if they can get the $$ then great. Everyone else has gotten fat at the players expense.

Unlike a glioblastoma (the type that killed McCain), as long as they caught it early and it doesn't spread, a medulloblastoma has a relatively high survival rate. Pulling for the kid.

The NCAA has granted immediate eligibility to UNC WR Tez Walker. They had twice previously denied his appeal citing it's rule of no multiple transfers without sitting. Anyway "new information that UNC did not provide" came to light. Sounds like someone found the right palm to grease.

This is the kind of shit that really pisses me off as it seems we've had one or two of these in the last five years where the NCAA just told the UA to fuck right off. In Vanover's case they claimed he didn't move close enough to home for it to count.

These types of things create what is known as a precedence and once the genie is out of the bottle it's going to be tough to get it back in. But hey I'm sure they'll still find a way to fuck Arkansas.

Nebraska goes from 3-0 to 17-0 in 3 plays.

Nebraska punches in for a TD after a long drive to make it 10-0. They then short kick to the 25 (and get a dead bounce) and nobody is there to pick it up for Illinois and NU pounces on it. First offensive play of the drive their QB takes it on a keeper for a 25 yard TD.

EDIT — and Nebraska short kicks again and kicks it to an Illinois TE who muffs it. Illinois lucks out since he called fair catch before dropping it.

Perused the Illinois boards a few mins ago and read their game thread.

They REALLY don't like Lunney. If he flames out there maybe we can stop hearing (or fearing) his name linked to our job, at least for a while.
