As of this season I count three head coaches in college football that have won natty's. A small few that have actually coached in the big game or even in the playoffs.

There are many flash in the pan types. A good many that took jobs too early and are more or less stuck no longer being the flavor of the month...such as PJ Fleck at Minnesota, Matt Campbell at Iowa State.

Overall the coaching carousel just isn't producing the big whales that people tend to expect the schools to hire. So yeah you end up with a Elko at A&M, Pittman at Ark, whatever at Florida and so on.
