His father was a fraternity brother of mine, and his mother was a Kappa with my wife.  His father was a smart guy, got an accounting degree and an I think his CPA, but developed a bad drinking problem, which eventually killed him.  Meanwhile, his mom, who was from Dermott, married Phil Phillips who at one time had a bunch of money.

Just to say there are a bunch of NWA ties.

Is there a story here I have missed?  I love the fact that Herbstreit loves his dog and takes him everywhere, but is this legitimately for some sort of support for him?  Does he have some problem?

I know judy and Phil.  He is a great guy.  They built a very nice huge house off 14 fairway at pinnacle.

Knew Kim also.  He liked his smokes and whiskey.  Had a very gravelly voice

My wife was also a kappa.  Graduated in 85

I think the dog is undergoing or just finished treatment for cancer.

I don't know about now, but when I was a CPA in the 80's, it was widely reported that CPA's had the highest percentage of alcoholics of any other profession.  I hated every bit of it, was suffering major burnout and after 6 years of misery, I said fuck it and went into a totally different profession.  If I had stayed in the accounting profession, I would have been dead a long time ago from alcoholism and/or suicide.  I have a mixture of admiration, compassion and pity for those who have done it all their lives.

Kim had a larger-than-life personality--- loud, opinionated, but not in a bad way.  He was from Malvern, if I recall correctly.  Rhett looks just like him.
