I'm doing the cbssports online weekly college pick 'em, which is against the spread.  Week 1 I went 3-12.  3-12!!! I thought it must be a mistake so I went back and checked all the games.  Man I went 3-12.  How is that possible?  This week I pulled a George Costanza – I made my decision on who to pick, then I did the opposite.

So after I went 3-12 the first week against the spread I picked the opposite of myself the 2nd week and went.....6-9.  So I am a net loser either way.  How is this possible?  From a mathematical standpoint I know how it's possible – if I had "stayed the course" I would have gone 9-6 and regressed to the mean.  From a practical standpoint it seems no matter what I do I lose on betting.

Moral:  DON'T BET.
