I think he would be added to a football show or something at this point.  They are looking for successful coaches who aren't 75 years old.

This is a fair point, but it's probably not solely a decline in talent. And I have no idea what their recruiting or portal rankings are.

I'm sure there is some measure of resting on laurels, which he deserves to do if he chooses.

If Dabo gets fired he'll probably take a tour in the NFL as an "advisor" for a year or so to recharge his batteries then come back to an ISer program (not Arkansas) and embrace all the shit he didn't before.

For context: Dabo has won half a dozen conference titles, 2 national titles, and has only had like two (maybe three) seasons under 10 wins.

If this season he wins 8 games, it'll be the first time since 2010 that he won fewer than 9.


He's had a record better than any Arkansas coach in program history. Clemson wanting him out this year is insane.

I suppose they're thinking the bubble has burst and he'll never reach that level of success again, and maybe not, but still.

Dabo is a great example of a coach who has to have better talent than his opponents to win.  Not a great strategist or super disciplinarian, but a good motivator. 

He's a better version of Orgeron and Miles.  None of those guys would win here, because even with a massive NIL war chest they would never assemble the kind of talent that LSU could on a six figure budget.

That's not the only way to win.  It's never been how it's been done at Arkansas, dating back to Broyles.  The only times in the SEC era where we had talent in the top half of the conference were a few of the Nutt years, and that had more to do with our opponents being in down years than anything we were doing right.  Our talent level has been remarkably consistent over time...recruiting rankings bear this out.
