I could have been convinced that we "encouraged" Briles to find another job for bringing in a possible rapist given his history of being attached to those kinds of allegations.  But if we had, why would we keep the walk-on QB around? 

I doubt very seriously that this was brought to Pittman's attention before today.

Regardless of whether he knew anything about this or had anything to do with recruiting Renfro to Arkansas, if these allegations stick Briles career in college coaching is likely over.  It's hard to pull the "I didn't know what was going on" excuse at two separate stops.  Especially if the talk that Renfro had similar allegations at OM and was asked to leave have merit.

Both Lebby and Briles have got to be hypersensitive about any hint of sexual impropriety within their programs given their background at Baylor.

Maybe they heard the allegations but couldn't substantiate/didn't believe them, so they took the path of easing him to another destination to pass the problem off to someone else.

Like every other viral internet incident, the most prudent path here is not to assume one side or the other is telling the 100% truth.
