Silence Of The Hams

I heard there was a leak of the conf alignment that is supposedly official and will be released in the spring, anyone else?

I think the temporary shut down happened right as the news dropped that we scored a 5 star CB transfer from Georgia. Macadoo will also remain a DB, Sam said.

Secondary looks to be "not embarrassing" this year.

At corner: Georgia kid, McAdoo, McGlothern, and...Braxton. I know ideally you don't want to stick a true freshman in Braxton out there on an island in the SEC, but counterpoint McAdoo was the best we had last year. Three of the four have at minimum 2 more years before they can declare, and McGlothern has 2 more if he wants them.

Also have Bishop and Chavis for depth. And at safety Clark and Jayden Johnson.

Then the 2 Baylor transfers. I believe one is a corner and the other is a safety.

It wouldn't shock me if Jayden Johnson transfers after spring practice. He won't see the field much if any next year.

Do you think we'll try to get one in the portal after spring practice? Looking over the roster, I only see true freshman TJ Metcalf as a viable backup to Clark and Walcott.

Yeah...I think they will be looking to get a few DB, DL, LB and OL in the portal. We have 8 spots available now, but I'm sure there be more available after Spring Practice.

the two guys from baylor have played a shitload of snaps at a p5 school. walcott was 2nd team all b12, and johnson played or started in all but the bowl game.

i doubt they were brought in with the expectation being they would back someone up. could turn out that way, but i'd be willing to bet that's not what they were told.

lsu beat writer confirmed today that their 3 permanent opponents will be a&m, ole miss, and bama. so yeah, it seems like everything is pretty much set and just awaiting official word from the sec.

red death

So we had Mizzou, Texas, Ole Miss and Aggy correct?

I think it is supposed to be just 3 permanent opponents.  We will allegedly get Mizzou, Texas, and Ole Miss.

This has not been confirmed, to my knowledge.

Jerry will probably pull out the contract for the SW Classic and make us play aTm as a non-conference game.

The hangup is no one wants Mizzou.  They don't fit.  At all.  Never will.

If true, then that may mean we're playing UT on Thanksgiving weekend since Aggy would be playing LSU. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Texas and Texas A&M will play on Thanksgiving weekend, like they always have now that Texas is back on A&M's schedule.

Exactly. I think we'll end up with Texas in September (in the A&M spot), Ole Miss in October, and Mizzou in November.

Yep.

Mopork

Although its a tough opponent for us, I still think LSU should be one of our permanent games.  We have more of a "rivalry" with them than anyone else in the league other than Texas.

vegashog

has it really been a rivalry with lsu? 11-20 since joining the sec and only 4 wins since 2010.

personally i like ole miss being one of them. we've played them more than any other charter sec school and there has been some great games recently in the series.

I would assume the same because ESPN would demand it, but then who does LSU play on Thanksgiving weekend? All 3 of their permanent opponents would be playing someone else.
