If that jab causes problems (it does allegedly) then I'd reckon there are lots of heart conditions running around NBA courts.

I understand Lebron's desires here but he's not doing his kid any favors here. On the other hand it's not like the kid is ever gonna be hurting for money so a college education isn't exactly on the front burner. I think the other son is supposedly the better prospect but who knows.

this I don't understand pushing the kid with a heart condition with further stress is good. Is he even that great? What team wants to take on that liability

these go unnoticed in seemingly healthy kids. i speak from experience.

my son, while never in organized sports, was into mma training, snowboarding, bmx, surfing, skating, etc. typical socal kid. when he was 16 he was walking out of an optometrist appointment and just went to ground and couldn't get up. fortunately it was at rady's children facility and he went straight to the emergency room.

come to find he had a congenital heart condition called aaoca. very rare and one of the leading causes of sudden cardiac death in young people, especially young athletes. never had any reason to suspect something like that because there were never any symptoms until the day it happened. 7 hours under the knife. like i said, very rare, the procedure was live streamed to juvenile cardiac centers all over the country. he came out of it fine and life is normal.

i'm assuming bronnie's situation is similar. the concern for any nba team should be that the kid doesn't appear to be very good, not with his health.

Not really sure what Bronny James had.  He certainly didn't have anomalous coronary arteries like your son or Pistol Pete.  They have been pretty hush hush about what he did have.  I suspect it is an accessory electrical pathway that can be ablated through a catheter ablation.  The recovery time on that is a week.  Surgery like your son's is a few weeks recovery time as would be surgery on a valve. 
I do exercise and sports cardiology.  (The only clinic in the state that has a couple of us that specialize in that btw). The latest buzz word in our field is "Shared Decision Making".  We lay out the risk of your condition and work with you to try and get you back to your sport if that is your desire and it is at all possible.  In the past, that decision was almost uniformly, "you need to stop playing".  Today, it is about 85%, "you can go back to playing but here is the risk". 
I'm headed back to a big sports cardiology meeting in June and to quote Matt Martinez one of the usual speakers (and one of Bronny's doctors) is playing optional or oxygen?  Is it just something you do or something you can't live without?  For a bunch of these young athletes, they are in their minds, nothing if they can't play.  It is who they are.  Taking that away from them, is almost a death sentence for them becoming depressed and perhaps changing their life in a terrible way.  That has become increasingly just as important. 
I suspect over drinks, I'll find out pretty much what happened to Bronny (unofficially of course).  Both of his docs Michael Ackerman and Martinez are at this fairly small meeting.  Lots of socializing, wine, and dinners after the meeting is over each evening.
