Are these expiring contracts for both sides? Even then this seems weird. AD has been a big nothing for a while now. Luka will go on to be the next star traded to the Lakers that wins a title.

yep, he only has a 10% stake, no control.

As good as Luka is, he seems like a head case to me.

I foresee him getting fat, out of shape, bickering, locker room cancer.

Luka is fat (ish), out of shape, and all that.  And he is STILL at worst the third best player in the league.  When he is right, he is the second best.  You can win a title with him as your best player if you add the right pieces. 

Word is he didn't ask to be traded and it was a surprise to him too.  Why not shop him around and see what you could get?  Why now?  Was there some kind of blow up with the coaching staff or management?   I don't get it.

From just a marketing perspective, this is just so strange. He's an international superstar. Just bizarre.

And to couple that with what they got in Davis being an oft injured, albeit great player in his own right and who knows what first round draft pick, this just seems very shortsighted. Everyone saying this helps the Mavs win now and I just don't see this improving them much, if any.
