Hogworth Ballington III

Was looking over different rankings and found this interesting, Uconn and both of our potential opponents the next game all rank in the Top 10 for 1st half margins. Meaning we can't afford to have our patented slow starts against any of them.

We are the unique team that has both a patented "slow start" and a patented "kick their ass for a half and then lose a big lead in the second with a slow finish."

It hasn't been true in the tournament, but here's how our typical performance graphs.

(Uh wait) -- is the add picture feature not up yet? I have the perfect one. Looks like an arch. Reverse parabola.

I'm pretty sure that was meant as some sort of sick sense of humor.

Interesting.

NCAA Tournament participants were collectively shooting 30.6 percent from three-point range entering Sunday. Denver Nuggets guard Collin Gillespie, who won a national championship at Villanova, responded by urging the NCAA to "bring back the other basketballs."

Goodman followed with a quote from an unnamed coach criticizing the inflation level of basketballs during the tournament. "It's not the ball- It's how much damn air they put into them," the coach said. "All of them are like bouncy balls. You can tell no coach or real player aired them up. Only a dumba-- administrator would fill the ball to capacity."

Another coach, Gonzaga's Mark Few, went on record to share the same concerns about the bright-orange Wilson Evo NXT balls.

"The last thing we should be doing is playing with brand-new, slick basketballs," Few said. "We need to have [the] ball inflated less and we'd see better shooting and less fumbling with the ball."

DRYANKNPULL

Pump them up and keep them slick.

Yep, we weren't going to make many of those threes anyway, may as well even the playing field.

BleedinRed

I know I'll get roasted for this but Ball inflation is such a bullshit excuse for poor shooting.  You can either shoot the ball or you can't.

This.  If you're relying on the bounce on a three pointer you're doing it wrong.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

yet pitchers don't want new slick baseballs, and we all know about the inflation of footballs.

Shooting is not about the bounce. The grip on a worn, properly inflated ball is very different from the grip on an over-inflated slick ball.

A worn ball is slicker than a new ball.  A new ball is more sticky regardless of inflation amount as it has more texture for the fingers to grab onto.  Look, we are talking 1 pound at the most difference.  This is a non issue.  You can either shoot or you can't.

Son of Spam

My balls are under inflated, smooth, and slick. And they can still shoot.
Well, shit...
