One of the online people referring to it is "named" Trilly Donovan on Twitter, which actually is someone who covers the sport professionally in spite of the name.
Thanks.

It just doesn't make sense.  Why would Muss jump to another program like Arizona State or Minnesota?  Arkansas is a premier place and you can win here.  More so than the other schools mentioned.  Is he really that opposed to competition?  Surly he doesn't' think he has hit his celling at Arkansas after two Elite 8s and a Sweet 16.

Lurk

I'm just about at that point.

Rumors he wants a better buyout and not enough NIL. Hard to believe on NIL. Good luck at Arizona State or Minnesota then.

Don't think it's true on the buyout. His buyout is already small at his request.

Louisville.

That is interesting.  I guess Louisville is a lateral move at best.  I wonder how their NIL game is.

Changing landscape of college sports may be at play.

Arkansas basketball was the tip of the spear for the portal shit and then we fucked the NIL part up trying to appear #integrity in typical Arkansas fashion.

We rebranded the fuck up as Arkansas Edge and that may or may not help. Perhaps the damage is done and it will be a tall hill to climb.

Now here comes the question. Let's suppose those are the motives. If Minnesota and ASU are losing programs it stands to reason their portal and NIL shit is also fucked up...

So then we go to fan base, wants/desires and security. All of which I would like to think Muss has at Arkansas. Fans will be patient but Arkansas basketball fans are not stupid. We know this is a lost season in which little or nothing can be built from. There is no foundation for the future. Everything will have to be rebuilt from square one. And that is going to the case every season moving forward based on how we are currently approaching things.

There is precedent for a carpetbag coach who was previously a head coach in the professional league, and who is undoubtedly a great coach, to take the head coaching job at Minnesota after 5 years.

He was even a little guy.

I could actually see Louisville. He'd be able to turn that around.

I agree on that.  It's not a better job, but it's a chance at a similar job with a fresh 4-5 years.

They also probably care more about basketball relative to the other sports.

Hunter absolutely top-ticked our athletic program last year at the LR TD Club. "Things won't always be this great so just enjoy it."

Yurachek needs to go. Fuck that guy.

I'm not getting the HY hate.  Is it driven solely by Pittman?

Are you new to WooPig?  ;D  ;D

He is the flavor of the week/month/year. WooPig has to hate somebody at the University. It is his turn.

What has he done that's good besides hire Musselman? Guy gives off carny vibes to me. I fucking hate our gameday atmosphere in football and basketball now. They have basically phased the band out in favor of a DJ and that obnoxious motherfucker John Williams.

hit_that_line

I'll let him make the next football hire before I decide.

In my view he has done a good job as AD. If I am not mistaken, in addition to Musselman, he has hired the gymnastics coach and the softball coach, both of whom have the programs going great.  He hired the women's track coach after the previous one retired (I realize that was just elevating an assistant, but retaining him was important).  Of course, he has kept Van Horn happy.

Having said that, I like Musselman, but I don't believe he has one ounce of loyalty to UA.  I believe he ultimately wants another pro job.  It would not surprise me at all if the rumors of him looking around are true.  Oh, and Yurachek has also done a pretty good job of keeping Muss happy-- let him have everything he wants.  He has a huge staff, including two sons.
