Does the A in Stephen A. Smith stand for asshole?

He complains about the ESPN layoffs and, naturally, makes it about himself and racism.

Please, ESPN, get rid of this so-called "journalist."

Of course he does. Definitely a drama queen.

As much as I dislike the guy, I didn't see much wrong with what he said. It didn't seem like he was saying any of the lay offs had to do with race. I took it that, as a black man, of course he's uncomfortable about his job security when people arpund him start losing their jobs. Kind of like the black kid in a horror movie starting to sweat when killing is about to commence.

Don't really feel sorry for many of these people. It was a sweet gig, sweet gigs don't often last when bean counters need to get involved.

Youre right.  i hope fucking ESPN makes Booger McFarland the star of every show, game, sportscenter.  All Booger all the time.

Doris Burke is in line to be the new Jeff Van Gundy ::)  But seriously she's ok I guess. I wasn't exactly a big fan of listening to Van Gundy but at least he wasn't part of a bunch of clowns talking and dapping up the entire game like it's an MTV celeb all-star game.

Stephen A Smith can choke on a dump truck load of dicks.

ESPN Radio in the morning is instantly better than listening to KJM or whatever it was called.

No wonder ESPN is damn near bankrupt

Iger is getting ready to dismantle the Disney empire.

Money loser after money loser at the box office with more on the way(Eait till you get a load of what they have done with the live action Snow White). Iger was the one that decided he needed to remake all the classics. If it was an animation one, make it live action. Iger allowed and still allows Kathline Kennedy kill Star Wars.  Marvel movies have lost their way of making good movie that ties into an upcoming Marvelverse into just another to be continued pointless exercise. See the last AntMan. He'll sell off some interest or all of ABC and ESPN either as a package or seperate and then try to get Apple to buy the Studio holdings.

Disney is being forced to buy the rest of Hulu from Comcast. It is going to cost them billions.

Apparently there were rumors that he was going to sell to Apple years ago, but Disney was worth too much.

I read an article the other day that described how even the Disney Parks side of business is in trouble as well. The cost of 1 adult admission is nearing 200 bucks with kids only around 20 to 30 dollars cheaper. Pre pandemic ride lines were a 45 minute wait, while today, ride line waits are about 20. The article ended by saying Disney use to be the dream vacation middle class families saved up for, but today, Disney has become the theme park for the wealthy elite and has decided to cater to their beliefs. That has to be one of hell of a money making idea.

That's why he has to unload ABC/ESPN.

Aviation the theme parks. Yes, too damn expensive especially with dynamic pricing. Then when new rides are open, there's a good chance you will not get a raide in them. Thus happened with Avatar and Star Wars.even with the steep ticket price. The food has got good awful expensive that makes stadium proces look like bargains. I used to rent DVC points for discounted rates but that got so big that it was nearly as expensive as booking via Disney itself. Entertainment cuts abound at the parks, less and less pixie dust. All of this started under Iger but the blame got placed on that poor fucker that took over for him. Halloween at night became an add in cost, Christmas, ditto. Fast passes sucked bad enough having to try and book certai rides 6 or 3 months out(depending whether you were staying on resort) but then charging for it and even implementing dynamic pricing on that. Parks was seen as a cash cow and Iger was intent on milking as much revenue as possible out of it. Now it is backfiring.

interesting point you make about Iger.
His hand picked successor is getting the blame but it is interesting that Iger is having trouble righting the ship whose course he charted.
Another example of a company getting too big and trying to be all things.

Disney, under Iger in the 20teens went on a stock buybacks spending spree investing relatively little into the parks, in fact cut back stuff while increasing costs with pricing schemes like Halloween parties that required additional ticket purchases.

He bought Fox with zero cash, it was all stock swapping but still binging on stock buybacks.

This touches on some of it

Here's a Disney Fanboy site that delves further into the cuts made at the parks while the parks were raking in obscene profit at the time. This happened year after year.

He way overpaid for Fox. Murdoch took the money bought Tubi and is making bank, apparently.

Here is another site that covers a lot of Disney. Also has links to YouTube channels that have good insight to the going-ons at Disney and other studios.

"can exercise her first amendment rights more freely."

I didn't realize the government was infringing on her first amendment rights while she worked for ESPN.   Shame on them for doing such a thing.
