After Brazile, probably my favorite returner.  I think it was against Georgia where he went absolutely nuts.

Those two on the court at the same time are gonna cause some match up problems.

If they can teach Graham how to play defense he's going to be a real baller for the team.

As far as I know all Pinion did was retweet what some assistant said about "next season" and that's apparently confirmation that Pinion is on board. I figured he was already. Ford's daddy put something about about how Ford has won state championships in Arkansas and wants to win a natty at Arkansas.

At any rate getting several returning players back means this staff knows what they have to work with and can build on that (presumably) and put pieces around them that will make everyone better.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

dunning's momma tweeted something to indicate he will be back also.  seems these young'uns knew that playing time was going to be pretty slim this past season and are willing to stick around try to earn some minutes.

fwiw mcpherson says the odds of davis returning are not as good as he first thought. he may go overseas if he can't get an nba deal.

BleedinRed

I don't know why Davis would come back with the returning crew.  No upside for him being "the guy".  I love Devo but he is never going to be the guy on any team he plays for outside of one or two games a year.

I suppose landing a couple of really big names from the portal could influence his decision.

With all that said, I would love for him to come back and try to be the guy.

Assume the posts about passing on Hunter Dickinson are sarcasm.  5th year senior who averaged 19 and 9 while shooting 52% from the field and 42% from 3.  I'd rather see our big try to score than immediately pass it right back to the guy who passed him the ball.

Muss wants us to play fast. We just brought in a guard who is very quick. Muss preaches position less basketball. Muss expects his big to be able to defend 20ft from the basket.  None of those things are strengths for Dickinson. He will force us to play a slow down half court pace.

He has good numbers in a slower paced league and he couldn't get his team to the tourney. I don't see where he is a good fit. You have to look at more than numbers.

I guess it's just me, but I'd be happy to have a 7-1 All-American who averages 18ppg, 9 reb. and shoots 56% from the floor.

He played against 2 SEC teams this year, UK and Vandy, he 23 and 21 points in those games. I don't think SEC would be "too fast for him." That being said, I don't think we get him, but I'd gladly trade BOTH Mitchell twins for him.

I believe it was 32% from 3 and that was low volume.

He was the best player on a meh team which is why he got his points. His numbers would have been very different if Jett Howard had stayed healthy. Not necessarily saying he's too slow for the SEC but too slow to play Muss's pace.

Primary players
Blocker/Minnifield/Devo/Brazile/Fall - elite speed (for position)
Walsh/Graham/Mitchells - good speed
Dickinson - slow

That "meh" team made the Sweet 16 in '22 and he scored 27 when they beat the Vols. He avgd. 18 that year also.

it was 42% on 57 attempts. not sure how many more attempts you're going to want from a post player.

if muss is looking for another big man, who should it be?

They didn't make it this year. I get it. You like him. He can score down low. He can make a three. Doesn't mean he's a good fit for our system.

I'll take Muss's opinion of who's a fit for his system over yours.

The smartest move would probably be just simply talking Wembanyama into coming to Arkansas.

We don't have that opinion yet.

Doesn't look like a fit to me.

I'm not sure Muss would've had a meeting with him if he didn't think he would fit our system. Obviously, he's seen film of the kid playing and knows his skillset. I doubt he would even waste time talking to him if he didn't want him.

But as I said, we probably won't get him anyway.
