Barton Fink

Quote from: Keyser Soooie on Apr 06, 2023, 01:04 PMI'm not sure Muss would've had a meeting with him if he didn't think he would fit our system. Obviously, he's seen film of the kid playing and knows his skillset. I doubt he would even waste time talking to him if he didn't want him.

But as I said, we probably won't get him anyway.

Muss has mentioned a few times he meets with some transfers as a smoke screen. Not every kid he reaches out to we are really interested in.

Exactly. Just a smoke screen, he doesn't fit our pace of play. He needs as slower pace like...Kansas.  :D

I would think that goes for any coach with sense.

if muss is looking for another big man, who should it be?
That's correct. Site I was reading had a misprint.

In:
Menifield 6'1
Ford 6'2
Pinion 6'6
Brazile 6'10
Graham 6'9
Mitchell 6'10
Mitchell 6'10
Blocker 6'2
Fall 6'11

Out:
Council
Smith

Still waiting:

Dunning
Walsh
Black

I'm saying Dunning and Walsh back.  Leaves 2 spots.  Badly need shooters.  Bigs are covered to me so Dickinson not coming not that big a deal.  Ware would be another big too.  Hard to pass on these guys but I would.

Need 6'4-6'7 shooters from deep who can defend.

I'm happy with the way it's shaping up to this point.

Kinda shocked Black hasn't announced. He's a lock for 1st round and highly probable as a lottery pick.

I feel like Walsh can turn into an absolute rock star with another year of refining his offensive game but his pro potential would be minimized by coming out now.

Every day he doesn't announce it raises my hopes .05 percent he's coming back.

I'm shocked too. Has to mean he's pondering something right?  Right?!

Walsh is huge for next season.  He turned into a serviceable 3 point shooter late.  Lockdown D.  Fighter on the boards  He and Brazile would be one of the best twosomes in the country.

He's the key piece we desperately need to close.

I often wonder if players are seriously considering staying and looking to see what NIL money is available.

A guy like that stays another year he needs a fat deal and an insurance policy to cover injury.

Black COULD bust out and become a top 3 guy with another year, though I think most would think he'd go pro.

He's ALWAYS had a different way of looking at things.

Walsh's size and athleticism as they are, he needs to create.  I want to see him take a guy 1 on 1 and blow by them and dunk on them.  Once he has a step they're toast.

Quote from: vegashog on Apr 06, 2023, 09:18 AMdunning's momma tweeted something to indicate he will be back also.  seems these young'uns knew that playing time was going to be pretty slim this past season and are willing to stick around try to earn some minutes.

fwiw mcpherson says the odds of davis returning are not as good as he first thought. he may go overseas if he can't get an nba deal.
I swear I saw Devo driving a new(ish) white Camero with a soft top on it today in Jville...he almost bought me a new van.

Exactly. All these Big Ten big guys always get pushed around when they get out of conference, especially in the NCAAT. Hunter Mickelson probably would have thrived in the Big Ten.

What's the latest on Devo? Is he going to come back?

I was pretty sure he was just getting a grade. But now I'm starting to think he's actually going to keep his name in.

but he wouldn't be a Big 10 guy any more

(don't think he matters much either way)

Pretty sure Muss could have convinced them to stay if he wanted. More likely he thanked them for their time and sent them along their way. Good news on some bigs?

I don't know.  It would be smart for them to split up.  They're competing for the same position and playing time.

Weren't we their third stop?

I bet confirming their "progress toward a degree" is difficult.

They need to go somewhere with a team and that takes hours from everywhere.
