I don't think he was trying very hard not to trash Muss.  The "handcuff" line is pretty damn strong.
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

Yea, I'm sure his motivation is to improve his draft stock by making that comment, but it definitely comes across as a little shot at Muss and I'd be surprised if other coaches don't use that quote on the recruiting trail.

Yeah, I don't think anyone can look at that and see it as a good thing for us. But hey, another kid going pro. Hopefully he makes it and Muss can point to him as another example of putting kids through to the next level.

Because nobody at the professional level is ever asked to play a "role" and they are never handcuffed when they repeatedly piss down their legs when shooting the ball or tripping over their dick.

It was a dumb comment but I doubt Muss really gives a shit especially a kid talking his game up going into the draft.

But just to let the kid in on a little secret. I doubt Muss would have "handcuffed" him if he were ready and capable of producing far more. He wasn't. Maybe he is now.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Gambler

Maybe he was talking about SEC refs. He started every game with 1 foul.

Another Jordan was said to be handcuffed by his college coach (a whiny Hall of Famer).

This one turns out like that, come back and see me.

I think he is really reaching with those comments.  With a little NBA coaching, maybe they can teach him to move his feet.  He does get 6 fouls at the next level though.  Guys gotta know his limitations.
Oak Grove in the house.

G-League bound, I suspect.

We will never hear from Black or Walsh again. Neither are going to be anything more than a few years in the league as 8th or 9th options off the bench.

Did you just compare His Airness who hit a game winner in the NC game at NC with our Walsh?

I believe he was saying that he would be surprised if Walsh turned out like that Jordan who had similar complaints. And I would bet Black is a starter by year 4 in the league. He has a combination of intangibles and measurables that are found in very few pg's.

Yes, and also that "being held back in college" is more a legitimate complaint for, say, a Michael Jordan, than for a mid talent who couldn't stop from fouling for 3/4 of the year.

It sounds to me like Walsh is conflating learning the game of basketball with being handcuffed.

On another note it sounds like Devo consumed Hollands NIL deal so he went to the g league.

egregious

Walsh wasn't good enough for us to handcuff somebody else for his benefit.  He could get better but not this past year.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

Black is going to be the best NBA player of the four.   He will be a starter within a couple of years.

Had you said Smith instead of Black I would have agreed.

I hear you and everyone else who likes Blacks game.  I just don't see it.  I'm probably definitely wrong.

He can't shoot off the dribble, he isn't a good spot up shooter.  He isn't overly quick.  He can't get to the hole reliably and when he does drive he doesn't have great vision to find the open guy.  His defense is okay but against smaller guards he struggles.

Other than being tall I just don't see much to get excited about.

I'm not trying to be all HTL here and have no qualms with being proven wrong.  Hope I am.

Quote from: jdcatty on Jun 01, 2023, 06:59 AMSo if I recall correctly, you were the one I had a bet with. You said Brazile and Walsh were coming back and I bet $50 Brazile wouldn't return and $25 Walsh wouldn't.  So it looks like I owe you $25 bucks, right?  Send me a dm with paypal or cash app info, and I will pay off.

Just proof that two people can see the same thing and draw two different conclusions.  Like you I hope he succeeds...I hope they all do.
