Tuesday, August 15th, the defending 7A champ Bryant hosts the defending 6A champ Pulaski Academy at 6pm in a AAA benefit scrimmage game.  


New head coach and some new coaching staff for Bryant vs PA trying to replace a ton of players including QB who is not playing football this year due to a more promising baseball career.  
Not being streamed.

Also, my understanding of the private school promotion is that if PA just makes the playoffs this year (they haven't missed the playoffs in 25+ years), they will be bumped up to 7A next season.  So, this may be a conference game next season.

I had heard back in the spring that Busby had TJ surgery at the urging of Matt Hobbs, and that he wouldn't be available for football his senior year. 

7A would be a tough row to hoe for PA, but then again I said the same thing for 6A with Greenwood, the greatest program of the modern era (El Dorado), etc.

Without starting a new thread, is anyone here going through Junior High football in NWA, or has anyone done so recently?  My boy is just starting 7th grade.

First 7th grade football game last night. Pushed back 2 hours to 7:30 due to the heat.

They played 2 15 minute halves. Roster of 65 kids and only about 30 got to play.

And Bentonville charged $5 per person to get in to the stadium... That's some bullshit when you take the whole family to the game and your kid doesn't even get to play the 30 minutes they were out there.

Going to be a hot one tonight for the opening Friday of HS football. Hydrate. 

Should be a scantily clad matchup of PA alleged Pineapple loving milfs vs the Robinson Ho's. 😀 (I grew up in Oak Grove with a healthy hatred of the Joe T Robinson Senators)  
Kickoff is backed up to 8 pm due to the heat. With the PA passing game, this one may go to midnight if the mercy rule doesn't kick in.

PA leads Robinson 22-0 at halftime with 2:37 left in the second quarter. 
Yes, that's right. 
The lights on the visitor side went completely out and the refs just sent the teams to the locker room for halftime. They will come out and finish the 2nd quarter then go straight into the 3rd.

Drove through the high school for the first time in decades last time I was home.  That school is really freaking nice and good sports facilities too.  Very impressive for a small town school.

Yes they've really improved everything. Newish middle school, new high school, new football/track field, and a very nice new basketball arena that's just being completed. Also very fortunate to have a good young coaching staff.
