I liked the catcher trying to calm the guy down. He knew.

That ump should be retired from the sport.

And yes the ump should be involuntarily retired.

I do not think this interview is going to work out how he thought it was. I mean, damn, keep your mouth shut if your only excuse is basically players and fans were being mean to me. Part of the job. And don't make it worse with these additions.

Drummer, who is Black, said that fans of Mississippi Valley State, a Historically Black College and University, used specific racial slurs toward him.

"I'm not upset," he said. "I'm more hurt because I'm getting all this from my people when I know I'm calling a good game, I'm calling a fair game."

"I should have ejected him when he pointed," Drummer told the podcast. "By this time, my lapse of judgment is through the roof because I was sitting here saying, 'I can't believe my own people have treated me like this for three hours.' And I said to myself ... He feels like he should be treated a certain way because of his race and admits that he calls a game based on how his feelings are treated. He just precisely described why he should not be an umpire.
