It didn't sound like Dolan.

Wasn't Brett Dolan.

It was Kyle Schass, who occasionally fills in for Phil when he has WBB PxP duties early in the season.

Don't think we'll see much more of Rowland this season. Helfrick was the difference last night. Go ahead homer and threw that guy out trying to steal 2nd.

I think both Helfrick and White are better than Rowland, behind the plate and at the plate.
Well, shit...

Thin Red Swine

I honestly didn't know Rowland is still on the team. I guess as an emergency third string catcher he's ok.

Oh and I definitely can't commit to PBP for the whole game and that wouldn't be cool to have to drop it.

If Feral can take it, that's cool.

If you or Feral can't take it I should be able to.

Helfrick was admittedly struggling at the plate before last night, but he has infinitely more pop and power than Rowland. Helfrick already has as many homers (2) in 20 AB's this season as Rowland had all of last year.

Rowland struggles to put balls in play, and has a sub-Mendoza Line slugging percentage. He had only 4 extra base hits all of last year, which was worse than even Bolton, who could barely hit the ball out of the infield.

I got you, fam.

I'll pinch hit PxP today.

Quote from: Vito Porkleone on Mar 23, 2024, 01:13 PMNo Rowland.  Thank you.

He only catches game 2 of a series to spell White behind the plate.

That said, he likely played his way out of weekend lineups for good last night unless we catch an injury or Helfrick goes into a tailspin.

Ryder needs to catch midweek games to get more AB's and game experience.

Thin Red Swine

No Ryder Hero either. That's a bit surprising but maybe it's a WHP thing, or they just want him available off the bench.

Top 1st.

Stovall up. Strikes out swinging. 1 out.

Diggs up next. Grounds out to the second baseman, 4-3. 2 outs.

Aloha up. Pokes an oppo base hit to RF where the 2B would have been. Runner on 1st, 2 outs.

McLaughlin up. Strikes out swinging.

No runs, 1 hit, no walks, no errors.

0-0

Barton Fink

I'm surprised it's been Sprague - Lott at 3B and not Holt. Figured he would've gotten at least 1 start this weekend.

s-L's defense has been REALLY good though.

Barton Fink

He has defended really well. I thought Holt was really good at 2B last year.
