Meh...giving money to these guys right now is like giving rent money to an alcoholic cousin.  He is just going to blow it on beer and weed snd be out on his ass and/or begging you for more at the end of the month.

You may be right but why would anyone donate to our football program right now? Basketball and baseball I completely understand. Please give more. But why should fans give anything to this pile of shit? That's a serious question. Especially after lighting $25MM on fire with this roster? Thank God I didn't. And no, I haven't sat around bitching or screaming about firing the coach because I'm not invested emotionally or financially anymore.

The reality is that Razorback football picked the absolute worst time to bottom out. Everyone else at least had some level of hope and enthusiasm when NIL started. We were coming off the Bert/Chad eras and had to hire a career OL coach. I'll go out on a limb and say that any other program in that scenario would've also struggled mightily to raise enough money to compete. You compound all of that with a buffoon AD who couldn't pick a good football coach to save his life and here we are in the death spiral.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

You said it better and more succinctly than I did.

I'm probably wrong, but I still don't buy it.  No program is going to hit these numbers year over year by depending on money from Joe Bob from Fort Smith.

It takes big pockets from rich people and corporate interests.  I'd bet a dollar that if we could see the internals from Texas and the like, there is very little dependence on "average fans."  For Arkansas, it's just a matter of simple math and population.

We have the big pockets available, we have to give them a reason to contribute.  Tyson realized he could take care of basketball himself, got good and mad, and made it happen. Football is a different animal and will take multiple big pockets.

Again, I'm probably wrong about what other schools are doing, but I'm pretty sure I'm right about what can be done in Arkansas.

Our QB and offensive R tackle are stealing money.
I don't care how much we spend. I care if our coaching staff can evaluate talent and then spend money wisely.

We just got our ass kicked by a team with a smaller budget.

We are paying our 3rd string QB $500,000 with the intent he won't play this year.

If we can do that then money is not the issue but a convenient excuse.

The issue is spending and talent evaluation, over spending on marginal talent.

They had more money for this year's roster and it is worse than last year's.

Again, if money is the only thing that wins then explain why Texas schools have not  won the last 5 championships and how INDIANA won the national championship last year.

Money helps yes, but it does not guarantee winning.

Good to know inflationary factors are of no concern to the average college football fan.  I guess there really isn't an issue with what Trump is doing.

Kentucky cares even more about basketball than we do, and their donors have seen a title more recently than the Clinton administration (and thus know their money is going somewhere worthwhile).

And yet, they're outspending us in football NIL, despite never being (or beating) anything in football.

Vandy has never won anything, and yet they're outspending us in football NIL.
Mississippi State has never been relevant in all their years, and yet they're outspending us in football NIL.

NIL had nothing to do with looking like hammered dog shit against North Alabama and getting humiliated by Utah. It won't have anything to do when Tulsa descends on Razorback Stadium and puts boots to asses either.

They look like a team going through spring drills while Utah looked like a team primed for the season. Georgia is resting it's starting qb for this game. Reminds me of Ed Orgeron's statement about how shitty the Hogs were a few seasons ago.

The program needs new blood at the top. End of story. Yuri has to bounce.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

I listened to Trey Biddy's podcast this morning. He said the estimated 25M we spent on our roster ranks last in the SEC. The talk we heard about 'middle of the pack' were based on last year's numbers.

That's no excuse for getting destroyed by Utah (est 20M roster), that's on the coaches.

In order to get top players to come to loserville, we are going to have to way overspend other teams. I don't think it's realistic to think hog fans will start giving more, much less twice as much. Unless Elon Musk becomes a hog fan, it's not getting better.

How did Indiana do it?

All it takes is one insane person with generational wealth to decide to take up the cause. We've already seen what can be done in basketball when John Tyson decided to open the checkbook.

I'd be more sympathetic to the "You must give more" mentality if I saw even a hint of a sign that they were doing the best they could with the money and roster they already have.  Even if that didn't translate to wins.

When I read opposing players talking about how we were tipping off runs vs passes every play, that doesn't give me confidence that the staff is doing their best to maximize the resources they have.  Either they aren't trying their best or they aren't competent, which means that those who hired them aren't doing their best.

A few months ago they said, " We are not a win at all cost school", when an analyst told them what they could do to raise revenue like other SEC schools.
