Ray Zorback

Silent J's AAA stats this year:

.349 10HR 30RBI 25R in only 86 at bats

irritatingly incompetent & infuriatingly unhelpful

Buddy of mine and I had a thought exercise the other day.

If you could take any Razorback player from the last 5 years and insert him into this roster, who would you take?

My three were Kjerstad, Cayden Wallace, and Kopps.

You get two great bats, an outfielder (move Holt to CF and sit Wilmsmeyer permanently), a high caliber 3B, and a pitcher who can start and do long relief or high leverage relief.

Silent J's oppo power sure would play well in Wrigley.

Kjerstad got called up to the Orioles today.  Not sure how long he will stick though.  Apparently their left fielder got hurt and is on the injured reserve, or whatever it is called.  He should be back sometime.

Imagine this team with Dominic Fletcher patrolling center field and add his power, avg, and speed to the lineup.

I think the IL for Hays was an excuse to bring up Kjerstad. Hays is hitting .111 with an ops of .311.

You get one or three?

If it's only one, I'd take Brett Eibner. As awesome as Kopps was, this particular team needs another high quality right-handed hitter. And he could pitch if needed.

I was thinking we need another hitter worse than we need another pitcher.

Don't forget that Willie Mays started out 0-23 or something like that.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

I would imagine the advanced analytics today heavily favors the opposing MLB team over the rookie. I'm guessing the Angels knew how they were going to pitch to Kjerstad 24 hours before he stepped to the plate. It would be really cool to hear the Orioles hitting coaches talking with Kjerstad and Holliday about the weaknesses that other teams are seeing and how to to improve their thought process.

Maybe he needs Crash to tell him what's coming.

Barton Fink

Kjerstad did pretty well when called up last year. He'll be fine.
