Get rid of? Absolutely not. Asked to move on and retire a HOF Hog Coach. Absolutely.  Which also coincides with Tony never coaching here. He doesn't respect DVH as a player. DVH knows this, and the world knows this.

We'll have DVH for at least another year. And guess what? Next year will look the same.

My hope is that it ends on good terms. We desperately need that.

He's reached the point that he thinks he's above criticism, and gets snarky with the press when they question him. He throws players under the bus instead of taking responsibility. Because he's got damned Dave Van Horne.
His line ups and pitching decisions throughout a season are headscratchers at times. Do we even need to bring up the hitters? And when questioned, more snarkyness.

I could cite instances of every example above, but I'm pretty sure everyone's already tired of me dooshing up this thread..I certainly am.

I probably did a piss poor job of it in my first post on it a couple of pages ago to you.  "Get rid of, absolutely not." But my fear is this is setting up to be another ugly divorce in a long line of them. The point I had hoped to make was MAYBE there's an alternative where he gets that forever family box in Baum and goes out gracefully, I dunno.

I hope as much as anyone here that I'm wrong about next year too, and I'll be the first one here cheering him and the boys on and hoping they go deep into post-season ball. But I wouldn't put your money on it.

I've been accused of being a Vitello butt-boy in the past.   I'm still of the opinion he wins a cws before DVH.

I pay attention to CBSB.  He had a huge impact at TCU as an assistant.   He did the same here.

He turned shitty Tennessee into a baseball contender overnight.

Some of us see it sooner because we are just smarter than the rest of you.

I like him a lot but his issue is the opposite of DVH's. He needs to tame that fire just a smidge. Some might call it maturing. I know the players love the passion and fire, but he needs to learn a calmer approach with umps.

Schlossnagle is being mentioned as a possibility for that job too.  I don't see him taking it, but also didn't think he'd leave TCU for Aggy either.
