I think he probably does have the authority.  I am sure we have signed agreements to go by SEC rules, etc.

If it's a written ban on any school hiring Wade, then you're probably right, although that might get into issues that Wade could sue the league over.

If it's an informal or unwritten rule, then it's more like collusion rather than actual league policy.

I don't see how the conference can block which coach you hire. I've seen nothing that states Wade cannot coach in the SEC

I haven't either and I've looked. I've seen stuff where he had a 10 game suspension which I gather some or all of that was served this past season at McNeese. I gather he has recruiting restrictions till Oct 2024. These articles deviate though from "cannot have any contact" to "cannot recruit off-campus"...seems like a big deviation. Somehow he fielded a team this past season.

I've seen zippo saying he can't return to the SEC. Though certainly it could be a deal where he's been blackballed. It may simply be that HY/Arkansas don't want to touch the guy. If we truly are about to get in trouble over some recruiting shit then I'd think Wade isn't exactly who we are going to be turning to.

if he can tell bama no, and they listened, then we have no chance in hiring a guy with an active show cause if he doesn't want it to happen.
