this part.

We have a few pitchers that need some reps heading into the postseason. Tygart, McEntire, Flaherty, Coil, even Molina needs to get a little sharper.

Outside of that, I wouldn't throw anyone more than a bullpen.

Quote from: Cerdo on May 21, 2024, 08:15 PMIs there anything riding on us winning any games in this deal or are we better off saving the good arms and using this stuff as batting practice?

I'd view this as tryouts for starting pitching gigs in the post season.  See who takes advantage of it.

Are there that many collisions at first that we need to find a solution?

Far more rolled ankles (see Slavens reference above) and stepped on feet.

I think it's a good move.

DVH praised the change.

I don't have a problem with it.  It doesn't change the game.

I would treat this tourney start as a mid week game (as it is) and throw some guys that need the practice. This tourney doesn't make or break us.
Well, shit...

We have the #4 or #5 seed locked up no matter what happens this week.  IMO, McEntire needs some rest, a couple of hitters need to heat up, and everyone else needs to stay healthy.  Then next week, LFG.

LSU leads KY 2-0 bottom of the second.

Somebody put something extra in the gumbo last night. Make that 7-0

Just added their 2nd grandslam of the day to take it to 11-0 in the 8th

.. and the jellies get run ruled. Looks like it will be a tickle fight in the loser's bracket, as both teams will be looking to just pack it in.

It will be fun to see who tries to lose the hardest. Also, I hate to wish injury on any player, but I wouldn't mind seeing White for LSU turn an ankle or something.

Watching the SEC Now lead in to our game. Jared Mitchell's hair line is quite distracting. Guy should probably give it up and go bald. Though looking at his remarkable ability to stick like a tic with "professional" baseball despite lackluster stats, he clearly isn't one to give up on things quickly.

Top of the first. Bybee on the mound.

Brinling leads off. Grounds out to short. 1 away.

Petry goes down swinging on three pitches. 2 away.

Jackson takes 2 strikes called balls. Fuck this ump. Walks.

Funky Cole Messina takes ball three. Ump squeezing Bybee badly. Walks. Runners at first and second. This ump sucks.

Noland lines a single to left center. Run scores. Runners at the corners, 2 outs. 1-0 Cocks.

Jones grounds out to third.

Cocks lead 1-0.
Well, shit...

I just had a Kentucky friend text me they won't win another game all year.

Barton Fink

Bybee not getting the outside corner.

Hogworth Ballington III

Bybee doesn't do himself any favors when he starts off with balls two feet off the plate. Location is off and this ump won't give you the benefit on those 50/50 calls.

Lucky to come out of that one only down 1.

None of our pitchers have last 1.5 months.

One can only hope. Would be really nice if they could expand that guarantee across multiple sports.
