It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
Well, shit...

I'll be here for the sorrow again next year.

We suck at hitting in general.  Not just in clutch situations.

If Thompson is back next year, DVH can go fuck himself.
I'm on smoko, so leave me alone.

aTm fired a pretty decent baseball coach and went out and got the guy from TCU. Arkansas needs to take note.

Van Horn will never win a championship at Arkansas.

Then who do we go after?  Wes?  UT will pay Vitello to stay.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

So far in eight such elimination games today, there have been SEVEN ranked teams that have either already won or are winning.

Outbid Tennessee for Vitello.

They're still new money when it comes to college baseball. Time to drop our nuts and act like the big boy program we're supposed to be.

As much as I want baseball to be great, I don't want to take a nickel away from football or basketball just to buy a baseball coach.

I'm fine taking money from football since we're an unserious program.

Baseball isn't money maker but it's not a loss leader either.

If we hired him I guess it would be another "he's our asshole" situation like we now have with Calipari, but I'm not convinced his volatility won't end up costing his team in a crucial moment. Just a gut feeling.

I mean, we worshipped Muss until the moment he left for USC and he was human napalm.

Nah I feel the same way. He has as much control of his emotions as my toddler. His whole team is like that.

Doc Hogaday

Not being volatile isn't working out so well either.
Pants ironed and back for more

DVH is here as long as he wants to be. He is revered here and in baseball coaching circles in general.
No reason to think about hiring another coach till DVH hangs it up.
He may have reached his peak or he may be baseball Tom Osborne. Either way, he's rock solid stable here.
Oak Grove in the house.

Barton Fink

In the famous words of Dennis Green, they are who we thought they were. We all had a pretty good pukse on this team a month in.

Worst part about it is it makes for a looooooooooong slow offseason.

Yep.

It was almost like football, where you could tell pretty quickly something was off about this team, at least offensively.

Looking back, we should've known something was up when we couldn't muster 2 runs against Oklahoma State in 14 innings in Arlington only to watch them get wrecked the next day.

Pitching carried this team, but great pitching and defense can only carry you so far and can only mask offensive deficiencies so much. Eventually your staff wears out from the pressure, and we didn't have enough offensively to ever take the heat off of them. I posted something a few weeks ago, but it was alarming how bad we were at providing run support to Hagen in nearly all of his starts this year.

This team was the baseball equivalent of Iowa football, even down to having a stubborn veteran head coach who doesn't adapt.

Stolen from the Rant (originally from TwiX), but pretty damning indictment against Nate Thompson.
